It really depends on the salary jump in your industry career with or without a master's degree (in my opinion). That and what positions will become available to you if you finish it. A masters degree isn't worth getting just to get, but if it'll significantly improve your standing for the rest of your life, the two years and debt will be worth it.
I did this. Because my undergrad was in a different field. Unless you intend to go into something that requires deep understanding of revenue sheets or some such business lingo (and requires an mba to get an interview), it will rarely pay off. What do you want to do? Can you get the skills you need following thought leaders and taking free/cheap online courses?

I’m a creative and went back for an MBA. It’s made me more marketable for strategy roles and since graduation in 2018 my salary has substantially increased. It’s really a matter of personal goals and what direction you want to go in. An MBA is not usually a Creative career direction
Adding - that I’ve continued to work as a Creative- but in senior leadership roles. The MBA been absolutely worth it for me.
I earned my MBA this year. I’m in my 50’s. The answer to your question comes down to: what do you want to do in the future?
I’ve worked as a copywriter/creative director for over 20 years. You don’t see a lot of us retiring from ad agencies. You should always be planning for future growth and development.
For example, I made a transition to UX design years ago and left advertising. I love the work, but my MBA is what I need to become a college instructor, which is my next transition. So I started teaching advertising courses this year. I’m planning my retirement years as a marketing professor at a school with a great football team.
I got a Masters in Business Analytics (with more of a data science emphasis). Doubled my salary after but I was making beans at my old job. I personally would recommend going for a more focused masters degree. Depending on the MBA and networking and curriculum I don’t think it would be worth it.
I got my BA in marketing and sociology, then went back for my MS in Marketing.
It's paid off for the most part. Higher pay, more opportunities than others because of the combination of education and experience, and It's made things more applicable to life as well.
I wanted to make sure I could take the knowledge and use if for everyday life as well.
Plus, I was able to do small business marketing consulting.
My manager told me if I came in tomorrow with a master's, he wouldn't pay me a cent more.
It all depends on what you want to do, and what your industry is.
In design, it doesn't really matter unless you're doing cutting edge research in HCI or something. They'd probably be looking for masters or PhD folks
I encourage you to not believe your manager. There are MBAs in Design Strategy (and also the MBA program at Stanford D-School) that say otherwise. These types of MBA apply design-thinking / human centered design principles to business approaches. Most of my colleagues in my MBA program were designers and most are now working in product or business design - generally for mid or late stage startups - and definitely making more money for having gone to school. You also start at a more senior or manager level with an MBA. The ROI on the MBA is significant.
