Hi all, I’d like to update my resource room (RR) website for the 2021-22 SY. Any feedback for what should be on a high school RR website? In previous years, I made subpages for assignment calendars from each grade level and about me. But tbh we never used the website much. Anybody have success with an online RR that would be willing to share their tips? Thanks, Dave

Special ed here! For my webpage, I have links to helpful documents for parents (info about the IEP and reevaluation process, etc), links to our regular ed homework board (some grades have a homework google doc where they post assignments). I have also included photos of posters I have in my room to help at home with homework. I also include a personal bio.

I am looking to find out what your school does with this type of situation. I have an 18 year old student who should have graduated in 2020, but at this time only has a third of the required graduation credits for my public high school. This student has been an EBD student since 1st grade, has an IQ of 96 and has diagnoses of ADHD and Mood Disorder. This post continues on the first comment due to a character limit in this section.

Just wanted to share this with people who would understand. Had 4 IEP meetings last week. When the case manager asked one mother if she had any concerns she said her only concern was that her kindergarten son with autism loved me so much she was afraid of him being promoted and being out of my room. I told her not to worry, in our program I will have him for 2 more years. Boy that made me feel good.

Hi! I'm a GedEd Middle School ELA teacher in Texas. This year I'm teaching 3 sections of coteach ELA and it's been a nightmare. I don't know if the coteach model is just a nighmare or if it's just the way my school/district has rolled it out that is making it a nightmare. Does anyone have experience with coteach? Any help is appreciated.

Interested in knowing thoughts of others about Sped Pre-K, low cognitive, having to be taught compound words, syllables, and spacing between words before they know colors, follow one steps, numbers, etc. No problem exposing them to it, but feel focus should be on prerequisite skills. How much growth do you normally see on the NWEA with your DD/LD students?

Parents want to send their children back to school not only for educational purposes but also for social interactions. I do understand that many children want that interaction with their friends and teachers. But I don't think it is going to be quite as rewarding as many think with social distancing and face coverings to be safe. No high fives, pats on the back, sharing earbuds to listen to a new song, or consoling an upset friend. Even facial expressions are lost. Tough times.
