My employer is based in China, while I am in France. I remotely manage a global sales team, with team members from around the globe. They all work remotely as well.

Hi all! Is anyone here in Underwriting? Just want some thoughts on this as i’ve recently gotten an offer for an Underwriting Associate position and have never done any salary negotiations before. Does it seem unrealistic for my counter offer to be 12k more than the original offer? Considering that the original offer is roughly 8k less than the market salary. Plus i’m also accounting for wiggle room as i’m not expecting them to actually agree with the full 12k counter offer

Question about remote job negotiations

I'm currently interviewing for a remote role for a company based in NY.

The thing is I'm based in a different city (southern U.S.)

My question is:

When it comes time to talk compensation, should I base the market rate for the role on my city of residence or NY?

Would it make sense to ask them directly how they determine comp for NY-bases vs. other city-based employees?

Anyone have experience with this?

Hey all! i am at the final stage with a well know Fin-Tech company and am meeting with their CPO today for their Executive Recruiter position. Due to me being an end user of their platform, coupled with all of the research I’ve done since the interview process started, i am at a loss for any questions to ask her. Any suggestions. Advice for getting past burn-out.
I’ve been a recruiter for 20 yrs, but am still young. First 10 yrs were Corporate TA; most recent 10 are with Agency. For the majority of my career, I’ve been passionate about my job. Does anyone have advice for individuals trying to secure a job in corporate recruiting? I’ve been a recruiter for 12 years but have been in higher education the entire time. Even though I’m a manager I haven’t been getting any positive responses. I’ve been applying to sourcing jobs, recruiter, recruiting managers, and campus recruiting.

Salary question: Starting to think I’m getting underpaid as I am seeing some high salaries out there and curious to know what others in recruitment are making. Currently, recruiting manager (team of 5) 100% remote for a RPO, 8+ years experience in staffing in multiple areas (MSP, HRG, Branch Manager - agency) with international experience. Education: BA & CIPD HR Management Diploma (SHRM equivalent in the UK). Living in Chicago. Salary $70k 10% bonus, been told being bumped to $80k 12% bonus.

Has anybody used both greenhouse and workable ATS? I've shortlisted these two from a list of 8 but can't find any big differentials to make a final decision.

A lot of companies ask for salary when applying. I’ve been putting in what I was previously making and seems to keep getting rejections. Should I lower my ask? 4 YOE, $110k in SoCal

I was offered a promotion but due to internal policies the max comp they could offer was way under market value. I countered and was denied. I took time to think about it, being disappointed I applied for other jobs. Monday came and I decided to accept the offer. A week before starting my new position I got a call for one of the jobs I applied for. I am now going through to the last round of interviews the same week I start my new position. Would it be bad practice to accept another offer now?

It took me a whole day to write a cover letter selling my skills (career changing) just to apply for a job that didn’t have an option to upload a cover letter or additional files 🥲💔 wasted my time for nothing lol. Just wanted to vent
