Vacation Question- Westin vs W (Paris)?
Tier 2 cities generally have more travel than the big hubs (NYC, Bay Area) since more people live in these areas relative to the amount of work (although it varies in specific industries)
Thank you! Appreciate the insight :)
I ve been staffed across the coast for the past year. I’ve never been staffed locally. I would caveat that when the economy is bad there will be more budget studies that want local staff
Flying coast to coast is exhausting but if that’s what you’re into then it gives great points
Thanks a lot! May I ask if you're in a small or big city office? Just want to make sure this isn't a thing only for the Tier 1 cities like NYC, SF, Chicago. I'm 26 and always craved this lifestyle. Looking forward to doing it for at least next 2-3 years when I have the energy and lack major responsibilities.

It’s true you absolutely CAN be staffed anywhere, on anything. However, your office does matter. There is a natural gravity to staffing you closer than further, and in the industries that your office tends to focus on
Eg, take the Houston office. It’s stupid easy to be staffed on anything GEM. It’s much harder to get on a banking project in New York. You can absolutely do it, but you’ll need to put in some leg work and network.
Almost never will someone just say hey we have a project in Paris, want to come? For that you will need to network hard.
So I would generally say you should go to an office that focuses on what you want to do—it’s just easier, there are more opportunities, and you’re more likely to interact with people in your target industry.
But if you are a good performer and network well, you can make anything work.
