I’m currently a risk consultant (~6 months) within financial services at PwC and very interested in IB for its work around strategy and finance. I was wondering if anyone can offer any insight on whether I should try and switch now while I’m early in my career (graduated in 2020) or should I aim to get into IB after MBA in 4-5 years? Thanks! I'm really lost in my career. Started out in ID and hated it, jumped around and made it out of ID to my desired area. Been at my current firm almost a year, but it's totally toxic and I'm likely being pushed out. Trying to make it work and stay here for as long as I have as I've jumped a lot in a short time and frankly I don't want to jump again. I had the chance to go back to ID and work for an old mentor who is incredible and go back to doing what he does (continued in comments)

What do you see as most attractive exit ops in Europe? In the US, everything is about Tech/FAANG, but it seems way less attractive in Europe (less strategic roles, comp. seems much lower than in the US, very centralized around London/Dublin).

I’ve been at the same agency for 5 years, have had endless growth opportunities, love the people I work with and have been promoted regularly with salaries I’m happy with but something has felt off for awhile now. I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.

Just got an offer from a BB in a sweaty coverage group. I’m a 1st year analyst at a MM tier II bank right now, coming in as a lateral. The offer is 85k + 10k signing (I will lose my original signing bonus bc of clawback and the bonus I’ve been accruing here ~15k). Does anyone have advice on how I can ask for more money or figure out who the other lateral hires are to see if they negotiated anything?
