Hi all, I'm new here and looking to pivot my career path.
No tech experience, 6+ years in a management position.
3 years in hospitality managing 30+ employees at a time.
3 years as a project manager at a plumbing business in NYC, this included service sales experience which I would do majority of the closing myself.
My question: Do I have any leverage to land anything above a simple entry level position? Suggestions/all advice appreciated in advance.

It’s a very broad question. I would ask myself What are your aspirations. If you want to get by into to tech, construction? Then review the details around functions or skill set you would need to develop. Your leadership skills are always a plus! But dive deeper into what you have and what you need to develop. 😀

Appreciate the response!

Hi everyone, I was informed that I am selected for Advanced analyst role. After salary negotiation HR said I will receive Offer letter in 2-3 days. After 3 days HR informed me that offer letter is temporarily on hold(1 week), and the reason stated was unclear. Does anyone in EY GDS know what can be reason for it? Does it happen often? Is there chance of my offer getting revoked? I am little bit scared right now.

I work in a warehouse as a lead and doing some interviews here in there for supervisor positions. I've been offered salary pay but with overtime I typically make more. Do you think it'll be better to take a new position else where or stay and try to grow? I feel like it'll be more work and shit to deal with for the same pay.

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

I applied for and was screened by HR for a Director position. It wasn't a good fit but I was passed over to another VP. I had a phone interview with that VP which went very well. He expressed interest in creating a Director level role for me based on my experience and interests. I received feedback via a 3rd-party recruiter that the company is in the process of creating a req. and will bring me on-site for another interview. Problem: They changed the level to Principal Eng. What should I do?

How do you answer when prospects ask about pay? My company does not want us to give any ranges because they fear they will always ask for the top even when they don't have the experience. We do pay a salary for full time but we hire PRN as well and have different pay rates for different services performed so it's not always easy to give a range in that case.

Anxiety before your sales demos?

Do these 2 things I used to do to get over it:

1. Know the product inside out - it will take time for you to gain confidence in your sales abilities but if you know the product will you’ll be more confident in that domain.

2. Do more demos - the more calls and presentations you do the more comfortable you’ll get. My advice is to try to get on a lot of presentations, even with leads that aren’t so good.

Hey guys!

Currently working in consulting - looking to switch to an SDR / BDR role next year. Wanted to understand what a 1st year SDR / BDR would make at tech firms. Open to advice, thoughts, recommendations for firms for me to check out and apply to!

Thanks in advance 😊

I’m currently an AE and was offered a promotion to sales manager. I’ve been waiting for this next step but the offer only provides a 5% raise over what I currently make. We had several manger seats open and I know external people we hired received an offer atleast 20-30% more than I did.
I’m currently trying to negotiate but there doesn’t seem like there’s willingness to do so from our hiring team. Should I decline? Should I leave? Should I accept and start looking elsewhere?

AE back to BDR??

With so many layoffs taking place. Would love to know the community’s thoughts on this move. I have 1.5 yrs closing experience, but seems that many roles I’m still unqualified for. Was laid off as company was downsizing. I’ve been a top performer at both companies I’ve been at as well. And was the fastest promoted SDR in company history.

Is anyone else considering moving back to BDR?

I want to transition from SE to AE. What are the skills I’d need to build up to be ready? I’m not sure I’d be able to handle the paycut required to go into the BDR/SDR role and build up. I’m also doing an MBA. Any tips?

However, the other two AEs want me to support them (only BDR) and they handle corporate employee accounts/non-healthcare.

Anyone have any tips for the B2B space and who I should prospect? They didn't give many pointers lol.
