Hi all, I’m wrapping up my first year in audit and am looking to a potential exit in sales - I have my CPA exams passed but don’t have the 1 year experience quite yet. I have a final round interview for an entry level SaaS sales role with a first year base of ~75k and 20-30k in commissions assuming I meet my targets. I have a feeling if I secure the position, I won’t be able to delay the start date before I hit my 1 year experience mark. I want the credential but don’t want to pass this up.

Anyone pass their exams and not get the credential until years later?

The credential bonus is for passing the exams at PwC. Not becoming licensed. You should see what the requirement is at Deloitte

Ohh I thought you mentioned the bonus. Well, the exams never expire, so you can apply for licensure in the future. Also CPA is literally 100% worthless if you aren’t in public accounting. It will just be a pain to keep up with CPE and pay fees in industry

Sales in this economic environment? I suggest to wait until at least until you get your license (as a backup)

Yeah I was thinking of that too. But I think the environment actually helps this company sell right now; they’re value prop is converting customers to the cloud to help streamline a manual process - basically an advantage to be remote because it takes away the problems customers have while being remote..appreciate the perspective, I’ll give it an ask if I get the offer
