Hi All,
In the last 2 years I didn’t want to switch my company but was still offered a few jobs. So I always thought getting jobs and switching must be easy. But now I am facing the reality. I have applied to over 20 jobs under cybersecurity in the last 8 days but to my surprise I haven’t received a single response. As I have never switched a company before can you guys please let me know how long does it take to get a response?
Be strong. Even if you get a response, you have to prepare yourself for rejection also. It is not that easy to get a response and get the job. You have to count the companies which are sending responses and you are getting in the recruitment process not that which you are applying for.
Again be strong and enjoy the job search and recruitment process. Keep in mind, longer the wait, greater the happiness of success. But never ever stop the process unless and until you get the success.
All the best!!!
(From the one who is also in the same process)
Thanks a lot :) Hoping for both of us to get great offers 😃
Hello guys update after almost 2 months of work! I got 2 offers from product based companies and one offer being 150% hike of my current salary. Thanks for all ur help :)
Give it 2-3 weeks at least. A lot of companies might have freeze going on. Also make sure resume is properly updated. Skills and keywords are scanned for, traditional CVs don't get attention.
Thanks for the advice. I think I am playing the cv game wrong. I am putting down the same cv for all companies not focusing on the keywords that you mentioned. Will implement it now!
Are u on naukri ?
And no.of calls depends on ur notice period as well
Yes I am on Naukri but I don’t see any relevant openings there. So I have applied all of the jobs through LinkedIn. Also my notice period is 90 days which is pretty high
Yes revamp the format. Keep it a single pager and put only the crisp details. Highlight certifications if you have. I tried a new format in my last search and heard back from most every place i applied.
Thanks for the advice! Will keep this in mind
Don’t tell you have 90 days notice period.
Say 60 days
Get a offer
Trust your skills
Then later after one month get the real offer
Totally depends on you
I dont have this much risk taking ability to put down paper and start hunting
Atlest one offer letter will give you motivation
