Hi all, is it rude to reach out to a recruiter on behalf of your spouse? I want to surprise my wife with an interview, shes very qualified for visual designer and art director positions in tech, but so far shes only worked with advertising companies, and competition in that industry isn’t great unless youre a creative director.

It’s not rude but it’s super strange and doesn’t look good for your wife. Surprise her with a gift instead…you can certainly tell her about opportunities and approaches but in a professional setting no one’s going to take a person seriously if their family member is speaking for them…

Let her advocate for herself. No recruiter is going to entertain a candidate’s spouse. No matter how magnanimous your intentions are.

It seems the general consensus is to just let her figure it out herself. Im so used to talking care of people while serving in the military that it feels as if im learning an entirely new way of life in the corporate world. Thanks folks!

like

Your intentions are super kind, but save all the opportunities/job links for her and share it so she can apply or reach out to people herself!

So weird. Do not do this.

Any tips on assessing if the hiring manager will be a good manager and person to work with?

I’d be hoping to learn a lot from them, as they would be pretty much be all of my day-to-day interactions and team. I’ve received an offer but have asked for another convo as I’m still unsure on culture, WLB and training etc as it’s a new team so no other people in comparable roles to talk to.

Hi All,

I have an offer from JPMC and joining is on the 23rd of this month. I have given 2 rounds of interviews in Dell and they said I'm selected, only one round is pending and they need 1-2 weeks of time to release the offer. Should I wait for a Dell offer or join JPMC.

I have already spoken to the Manager and MD at JPMC regarding the project and other things. So I'm confused whether not to join JPMC or not.

Dell is ready to offer around 6-7 LPA more than JPMC

I had an interview with @cognizant all rounds done with HR AND Salary negotiation, after that I sent an email to them related to my offer status. However, they replied me as, we have kept you on hold etc.
And now @cognizant hr called me 3 times for job opening, and I have told them my offer is on hold. Now, they have scheduled interview. Is it for same or new. It's really confusing for me.

If they release old offer what we have discussed or they will interview me again?.

I’ve asked about this in a couple other bowls without much useful feedback, so I’d like to present it here (with extra context that may be understood by this group).

When I start a new job I grind and break my back pulling 16+ hour days, building crazy new stuff that takes the operation to a whole new level. I’m always up front during interviews and my first few months that I will do this, be their rockstar, but also expect to have my contributions rewarded.

Have my closing interview with Accenture next week. When is it time to give up on a job offer coming in and move on? Internal recruiter has been in constant contact with me and extremely positive, but the final decision seems to keep getting pushed off because they can’t get all the decision makers together to decide - 3 weeks now. Feels like I’m being strung along or maybe their second choice. I wasn’t looking to leave my current role, but this is an awesome opportunity. It’s starting to distract me in my current job though and can’t let it go.

Advice Please
It's been 4month with the team with no manager. I recently joined the organization and the team I am part of is headed by a lead and one analyst.
So being a new member as Sr.Data Analyst I sometimes have to report to analyst. Considering the fact that he has been part of the team for past 1 year and sometimes he sounds like lead as he is leading some project.
On other hand my manager is continuously asking me take lead in project and try to reduce dependency on that analyst.
