Hi all! I’ve been curious if any entry level data analyst roles or anything similar out there exist that train you for the position. A little about my background. I currently work in Finance. And my former experience involved data manipulation but I never worked with any languages myself. I also have a 4 year degree. I’m starting to feel I’m not where I want to be at my age and want to transition into something that will get me to 6 figures or as close as possible. Open up advice!

Might be worth it to take a few courses to learn some of the languages so that you could show them on the resume (since you might not be able to prove you “know” them through work experience). Could give you a leg up in standing out.

Recent graf looking to transition from my current sales role (purely operational) to a more creative/strategic role that involves public speaking/facilitation. Have some experience in sales development (mainly business development & strategic advice to C-level), branding/marketing, facilitation (as a side-job) and working with content creators.

I’m new to this space so not sure about what kind of roles there are?

Hi all. I have been recently offered a position at guidehouse with a great pay increase from my current position. I expressed my concern of how important work life balance is and I was assured it was a standard 40 hour work week with occasional 45 hours. I was a very specific with my questions and got what seemed like quantitative feedback. Is this too good to be true? Some of these posts have me worried.

I’m currently an L6 Analyst and I’ve been offered an in situ title change to an L5 Senior Analyst role. The offer includes an 8.3% salary increase and a year long commitment to my current department. Should/can I reasonably ask for a greater salary increase? I feel like I don’t really have much leverage to negotiate with but it doesn’t hurt to ask?

Hi everyone! Recently got reached out to interview for a GP stakes analyst position. I find the space rather interesting, but am weary of the exit ops. I would want to go back to B-School in the next year/2 years and eventually transition to traditional PE. IMO the GP stakes position would be a good starting point into understanding investment trends among PE funds, as well as a better understanding the workings of the different departments of the LP (for a potential return). Thoughts?

Trying to plan scenic destination wedding for central drivable location. Family in Ontario, Appleton WI, Indianapolis, Pittsburgh, DC, and Houston.

We’d love Asheville or Blue Ridge mts, but venues can be super pricy and pushing it drive wise. Smoky mountains, Tennessee or Red River Gorge, KY also on list. We love outdoors but hate cheesy, ultra commercial areas. Im hoping to get peak Fall colors so I have to make a decision for 2023 soon. 50-65 ppl. Ideas for venues?

For those who have successfully made a career pivot into a new field, is it recommended to apply for the equivalent title in the new field (i.e. Senior to Senior) or is it more effective to apply for a title that is a step back from your current role (i.e. Senior to Junior)? I’ve heard arguments supporting either strategy but am interested in hearing about the personal successes that people have had.

I have a quandary to share. My work exp has been tech heavy, starting as a software developer for 8 years; outgrew that. Then for the last 4 years, DevOps, specializing in the Cloud, IaC and GitOps. The tech parts (sans human) feel empty sometimes, and I want to try out transitioning into product. As DevOps, I have loved my share of helping internal customers (dev teams) as well as being an advisor. I love unsticking people. Is it possible to market that for job desc that asks for mgmt exp?

I'm considering pivoting to copywriting because that's the part of my role I'm best at -- a lot of the account management stuff is draining, but I can whip out social and marketing copy quickly & I enjoy it. Wondering if anyone has insight / leads on making the jump from accounts to the copy side when applying for jobs? 5 YOE, 3 in-agency with a mix of automotive and pharma + a side gig as a published author with muliple books (hoping that'll help on the creative / copy end?) Thank you!
