Hi Fishies! (Is that what we are? I’m going with it)
I just came across a Google Research and Insights role that got me SUPER excited and I was about to apply when I had the idea of seeing if anyone would be willing to give me a referral. I understand (and respect) that most of you Googlers on here feel that a referral is only useful if you know the person but I would be happy to jump on the phone to give you some info about me. It would mean so much! 4 YOE at a major audio steaming service
Hi fishes, in urgent need of your suggestions.
One of my friend is having offer from Oracle Pune for software developer role in Oracle store team. but he does not have clear idea of the role whether it will be operations, support or development work.
Does anyone know what kind of work is there in store team. Also, is it possible to change the project once we get inside?
Urgent suggestions required...
Thanks!

I have the same question! I’ve also worked in Operations, but have spent the last 6 years managing CS/Implementation. I’ve always loved the cross functional collaboration with Product and I’m also interested in doing a pivot. I’m worried I’ll have to start much lower and the financial cut will be too difficult.
Same here! I always end up fitting the requirements of the position, but I’m not sure how to quantify or describe my experience in a way that they are wanting. I’ve been stuck in CS/CX and Technical positions.
i think your experience can very valuable for product management and development since you are familiar with customer POV and communication with customers… to improve impressions in interviews maybe do some reading or take a class that can improve your comfort with PM related processes and buzzwords. you should aim to make the interviewer not feel like they’d need to train you too much for a more senior position.
