Having an informational interview that I’m hoping will lead to an exit opportunity. I’m compiling a list of questions to ask and was wondering if anyone had recommendations or go-to questions?
Going to have a kid towards the end of the year and thinking of saving for the child. What are the drawbacks in opening a 529? Are there other investment vehicles that I should consider for my kid?
Always baffled how in America we hire a director and an editor separately for the most part. And that many directors don’t supervise the edit. If you hire a director, aren’t you hiring for the vision they bring? And if so, wouldn’t you want that to translate thru the edit? In some other parts of the world the director has in house editors and it’s an orchestrated thing.
Which do you hiring managers out there prefer? 6-9 thumbnails linking to different project pages, or stacks of project images on one, long scroll page?
Evaluating whether to take up an Investment Strategy role with a unicorn wealth-tech firm. Does this pigeon-hole me into wealth-tech? Are there paths from Investment Strategy to other fin tech or investing or Corporate strategy roles?

Hello I am a rising senior and have a full time offer for a T2 consulting after graduation. Before this whole pandemic I was planning to apply to mbb. Is it still worth it? Will they be hiring on the fall?
I’ve been proposed an exit as Product Owner at a real company, not a consulting one. Staff seems nice, good culture, good salary (less than consulting but well), BUT I would have to move countries for that job and start a new life. I’ve also been proposed a Manager position at a consulting company in my home city, with potential of bigger salary thanks to bonuses. Culture seems good... But I’m sure it’s gonna be a hell lot of work. Which one would you take? Should I exit and never look back?
How did you figure out what you wanted to exit into? I haven’t been at any client or on any project I’ve been passionate about. Everything is kind of... fine?
I’m 33 years old. I have a decent amount of experience under my belt. Over the phone, recruiters and hiring managers say they love my book. But when I’m brought in for an in-person interview...

Any advice for applying for a new position while currently in one? (Esp. being in one of the big 4 holding co where talent portal will flag you applying for positions)

If you're interviewing at a firm that markets itself to laterals as a biglaw refuge with low billable requirements and quality of life is it okay to say in an interview that those are one of the reasons you're considering the firm?

I am literally waiting for Green Card Interview - EB3 ROW ( I know it’s not current, hopefully will be by Oct). My 180 days has passed since my I-485 was filed, I-140 approved, got my combo EAD card. Can I change my job location (i.e. from Austin to Dallas/ Houston) with the same employer , same job title and not have any impact on my green card process due to change in location since I am in advanced stage of the process?
Is there a professional way to ask your client when they REALLY plan to get you your info requests? Or a nice way to tell them to hurry it up?

Hi folks! First time posting in the fishbowl (nervous) 😬. At Deloitte now. laid off last year while on medical leave. Landed a new job with the help of a senior mentor and vouched for me not knowing my medical limitations. I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?
