Hi all! Newly diagnosed last month. Started Adderall and was only able to fill one 2 week prescription before it became impossible to get I my area of Tampa, FL. Dr switched me to Ritalin but I don't have much of a benefit from it at all compared to Adderall.

Pharmacies are saying it may be another couple of months before they expect adderall to be back. Anyone else having this issue? Was on Adderall 10mg twice daily. Now on Ritalin 10mg twice daily. I just don't have the same level of focus!

Maybe you need to be taking more Ritalin? You could also try something like Vyvanse, Concerta or Focalin. The shortage may just be limited to Adderall but not certain on that one.

I would give it some time, it's not an instant thing from what I've found. I would talk to your pharmacist about adjusting dosage though, it might be helpful to up it

I've been using Adderall for many years now. I've tried other prescribed medicines that would give the same effects but I still go back to Adderall after some time. My new doctor told me that if the medicine is working for me, then I shouldn't bother myself trying something else because it may have adverse effects.

I'd love to have the adderall back but the pharmacies can't get it for at least 2 more months here so I'm stuck with Ritalin

Vyvanse has been my substitute since the whole Adderrall shortage fiasco. It's been working well for me. No real noticeable side effects.

I'll ask my dr about it! Thanks!

Yes. Adderall has helped me the most. I tried Ritalin and I don't feel like it fits me. I feel very different with it and my mood just goes downhill. I have no idea when this scarcity will end. We had somewhat of a waiting list in my aream. I just need my meds as soon as possible.

Ugh I got diagnosed last week (at 35yo) and haven’t been able to find anywhere in nyc that can fill my prescription for Ritalin. My dr went with Ritalin instead of adderall because of the shortage, but I guess now there’s a shortage of Ritalin too because of people switching to it from adderall.

For the last two months I’ve been having a hard time falling and staying asleep. At first I thought it was from lack of physical activity, but now I’m getting at least an hour of exercise in the morning and still can’t fall asleep. When I do fall asleep, I’m usually up after 4 hours. I take melatonin and that used to help. Maybe it’s time I go see a doctor?

My partner struggles with trauma-related depression. He’s asked that I reach out every day to find a time where we can check in during the work day, even if we’ve had quality time in the morning or have evening plans.

This feels like a big ask to me. I requested we not check in *every* work day, and he agreed, but still sends me guilting texts if I don’t reach out about it. I want to support his emotional needs, but this feels codependent and I feel myself growing resentful. Is this reasonable?

Many of us are trapped in positions that are not in alignment with our values and work abilities. Much like using "superman" to drive a vehicle and deliver mail. You not allowed to fly, use your xray vision or strength. We are confined to live in square box when we are so much more than the shape of the box. I'm not saying quit your job. But atleast explore what makes your tick: what excites you and where you excel.
