Hi All- no question, but just sharing a (potentially very obvious) tip that has been working for my anxiety: cutting back on drinking a lot.

My project has slowed down over the last few months and with the pandemic and everything it’s been easy to have a few drinks every night and then a few more on weekends. My anxiety went through the roof over that time period, in large part due to different life factors.

But after taking a week off from drinking at all, I’ve been in a much better headspaxe

I can’t even begin to explain how much alcohol affects both my anxiety and depression. Not drinking at all during the week has done the same for me, so great suggestion.

Yes- I’ve found this too. Especially when I am super busy and tired, more caffeine makes my mental state worse. I’ve found that more sleep (when possible) is the remedy there.

I have been experiencing a lack of focus, inability to work and general symptoms I would describe as depression since starting WFH. I’ve noticed the brain fog/lack of focus is getting worse for example taking several attempts to write a correct check with no errors and I forgot an oven mitt and went to pull out a rack with my bare hand. I have been working hard for a project since 8-9 months really hard giving KT to team preparing docs for documentation debugging testing things out did automation being a manual tester
Since i was divided into 2 projects another colleague who was also in the project was made the TEST lead
We were both doing equal but obviously a lead gets more limelight due to that my manager has awarded her with 25k as a reward

I am working for NetApp Client, Bangalore however My base Location is Hyderabad, and I have heard from a couple of NetApp Employees that they are planning to resume offices by May.
My questions are:
1. If UST is planning to bring employees back to office?
2. If they call will I be asked to relocate to Bangalore as my client's location is Bangalore or will I be working from Hyderabad only?

PS: My manager has left the organisation and I am the sole person from UST in my project.

Anyone here a recovering alcoholic?

I’ve been having a lot of work-related anxiety lately. I also start waking up too early in the AM due to anxiety and can’t get back to sleep. Then I feel tired when I need to be in meetings. I need coffee to stay alert and it makes my anxiety worse! Help!! Can’t break the cycle!!!

I had a break up and it was me who messed up. I blame myself all day and constantly have dreams of her. It’s been few months. I try to smile a lot or stay busy but randomly I cry out loud and burst into tears, I think I’m depressed. I also live alone don’t have a lot of friends and I’m 36. I’ve applied to multiple companies this past year and got to multiple final panel interviews as the final candidates. I am a bit depressed I haven’t been hired although I am still employed. I am a military veteran and transitioned to the private sector a couple years ago. I’ve explained and translated my military experience but it always seems to be dismissed. I feel like my mother prefers another family member (not her child, but same age and gender as me) more than she does me. I was very excited for a recent milestone event in my life and so was the other family member, whose event my mom is definitely more interested in. Idk why I even bother, maybe I should just come to terms with the fact that my mom doesn't care as much and move on with my life without needing her validation
