As a mid-level associate, what is an appropriate amount of notice to give your firm when you leave? I’m running a couple deals right now and do not want to leave my team in a bind...so 2 weeks seems far too short. That said, I also want to take some actual time off before starting a new role. Not sure how much time new employer is willing to give me before starting...I suspect max 6 weeks.

I’m a 4th-year at a midsize firm doing mostly oil and gas work, but I’m looking to change practice areas so I can get away from a dying/morally problematic industry and move into EC/VC, Corporate, tech transactions, and/or privacy and cybersecurity (have CIPP/US & /E). I worked in the corporate and government worlds before law school. Just graduated and working at a boutique firm, but I'm just...tired. I joined as a fresher in tcs...now its 2.9 yrs ....first my mindset was just to focus on learning ....and i worked very hard here ....over worked as per expectations......still unfortunately ....i got a very toxic manager .....who just for ownself did politics and gave me c band and he even gone too much personal to me in that extent......i got released from that project.....from that day i just lost all the motivation to work here in tcs.......lost all thirst to work here
