Someone wanna give me a referral at Salesforce?
Mattering on your location Director will pay $200-$250k base, 20% bonus, and have a stock grant in the $100-150k range. So it is lower then any consulting partner. It is higher then most senior manager consulting roles due to the stock, but that would be the most comparable role.
Director is a bit inflated at Salesforce compared to other tech companies, many Directors are still ICs with no reports. Senior Director and VP roles have a lot more responsibility and a much higher chance at getting stock refreshes.
As Salesforce has grown the Senior Director role is also getting more watered down. It is hard to come into Salesforce at the Director+ level, very common for people to come in as a Senior Manager and the expectations is that you will be promoted into Director.
This has been my experience working with a few different Salesforce teams as well.
Recently joined as L8 Senior Manager which was a lateral from B4 senior manager. Was Recently promoted. I have met several SMs who came in as SMs at Salesforce. Directors are a level higher than SM.
S1 - would you mind sharing the base pay salesforce offered you at L8? What would L7 look like?
I am interested as well. Maybe Salesforce Director level employees can answer this question.
I joined Salesforce recently and when I view the Org chart, I feel like a fish in an ocean 🐠

Salesforce consulting levels are parallel to Big 4/ACN in terms of hiring and comp. Manager = Manager, Director = Director, etc.
Agreed though sales force might have more if individual contributor roles rather than a team
Manager.
I have not figured out yet as I have joined recently. But I see Directors have good amount of work experience and sizeable reportees under them. My manager’s business title is Senior Manager and he reports to Director.
I feel I can answer this question but I’m not quite clear about what information exactly you’re looking for
Director is one level above senior manager. Senior manager level is similar in Salesforce and Big4
I joined Salesforce as a Director. Came from Deloitte as a Senior Manager.
What about the “directors of technical program management roles? I’ve been getting emails from SF recruiters with those titles and the postings read like individual contributors
Im pretty sure in Salesforce CSG its:
Director: L9
Senior Mgr: L8
Mgr: L7
Currently considering an offer for Senior Engagement Manager from the CSG group
