Hi All, Would pursuing an executive MBA from a top B-School be a good idea for an experienced professional with 9+ YoE? CTC : 22 lac+ Current Org: Big 4 Been thinking this over a lot as this would involve a lot of money and of course my time; Also, I might be full of regret later on for giving it a proper shot. Would I be risking stability and money for this? My wife is fine with this though. Opinions pls.

If you try you would easily get the package of more than 22lpa as per your experience but by counter offers. Doing an mba along with the office work would be difficult and waste of time because organization just review your past work experience and not the qualification Or degree.. Instead you can get some certification that are on demand for your profile..

It depends on the role you want after Executive MBA. If it is something you can get without an MBA, then it won't make much sense. You can also talk to someone who has done an Executive MBA to know what kind of opportunities you get. However, if you have the financial arrangement and would like to get IIM/ISB/XLRI etc. tag, then go for it.

Doing MBA in India won't help much. Rather go for executive MBA from a good foreign university. That may add value to your career.

If you’re planning on staying in your current org, it may actually pay dividends later in terms of higher pay, faster promotions, etc. If you’re planning on quitting your job and looking to switch post MBA, it will be tad difficult. Exec MBAs are made for those who want to continue working in their current orgs, if you fall in that category, it totally makes sense, especially if it’s from a top B-school. Don’t listen to CTS, they are talking about Restarting your career from scratch post MBA which is not the situation you’re in.

With 9+yoe, you can definitely secure 40+ package. Maybe switch to a product based company. I had 2- yoe, and was able to secure a job in Amazon with 36(including stocks) package
