MCA is applicable for a fixed amount of time, say 24months from when it is initiated (~Oct 2022), or it can vary in your case as well, get this sorted with the HR. Like the HR said, gradually this component will be merged with your fixed salary be it through change in PIR or bringing the Base salary at a higher level. Hope this helps. Let me know if you need anymore clarification 😊
Thank you for the response!
Yes, that's exactly what my HR said as well in the morning. The PIR and base salary cannot change frequently, thus this component has been added in the meanwhile for few skillsets.
Ultimately, when the Job Group salary range changes, the temporary amount would be adjusted in the salary structure and this MCA component would be taken out.
That's how my HR put it.
From the previous posts in this group, now i can see many existing employees have also received this MCA increment not just new joiners.
Get everything in writing. Hr at shell is not that great in keeping its words
I agree, however, now I'm quite confident about this MCA part. I spoke with some other HR as well.
Came to know that the main reason is they couldn't have competed with the other organisations in terms of package offered if they didn't add the MCA component, as the current strict JG salary levels often act as a bottleneck in providing good offers.
And since the salary bands, don't change that often, they're using the MCA part to make up in the meanwhile.
Once the bands do change, the component will be withdrawn and the cash in MCA will be adjusted in salary structure.
My HR himself said that it makes absolutely no sense and infact would be rather deceiving if the fixed pay of a person reduces after an year or so (after withdrawing MCA). Why would that person stay in Shell, if he/she starts earning less than what they initially used to.
