Mental health days, flexible schedules and lots of compassion from our managers. Children welcome on zoom calls! We’ve done some meet the pups and kids zooms. Encourage our employees to share their Home/life on slack.

@Head if Humans1, do you have a PTO policy? We thought of offering mental health days, but we feel like people won’t use their existing PTO and in the end of the year will be asking to increase rollover. Our employees now have about 20 days of PTO, plus floating holiday to use, plus 10 days of Coronavirus PTO, and we only roll over 10.

We've been completely flexible with work schedules. A couple people have taken advantage of the paid FMLA leave extended by DOL so that parents can take 2 weeks of time to care for children... But that doesn't cover months that we're likely to be in this situation so it really comes down to being as flexible as possible. We also gave the Monday after mother's day off and Monday after father's day off company wide. In addition, we're doing a surprise mental health day on top of our regular PTO.

Flexible work arrangements, backup dependant care covered for 80 hours (or currently, until June), milk stork program, and I think a program to help with parenting challenges.

Ours is through Bright Horizons. They also offer elder care and out of network care (they will pay a person/company of your choice if they have no centres in their network in the area). They partner with a lot of daycares, not just bright horizon ones. They also have a network of nannies.

COVID-19 related - outstanding support provided. We have two day care centers and we extended hours and provided other concessions. We also partnered with other providers such as the YWCA.

At Deloitte now. laid off last year while on medical leave. Landed a new job with the help of a senior mentor and vouched for me not knowing my medical limitations. I just had to take sick leave again on the first project out of the gate. Dr is recommending 40 hours a week which will not fit the requirements of my director role. I feel like I need to switch roles to a non client facing role to be realistic in my health limitations. How do I make the switch and have the convo with w my mentor?

Are we still against taking counteroffers in this day and age, if so why? I get the whole "black mark on your record" bit but my practice went above and beyond to prove I'm valued by coming back with nearly the same amt (>50% raise) to keep me and genuinely seems like they want me to stay. Am I crazy for wanting to take it? I love my team.

It seems partners are much more flexible with associates who have kids than with those who don’t. If it’s okay for my colleague with a kid to leave at 5 pm and log on later, why isn’t that the same for me (no kids)? My obligations might be different, but I still have a life and want to be able to do certain things, like catch that evening workout class or cook dinner for my partner. As you can probably tell, my firm is operating 100% in person. There is no point here — I’m just whining.

Opinion needed. I’m resigning from my current role. I notified my direct supervisor today and was hoping to connect with the attorneys I directly work for as well. I called them today and no one answered. 0/6 on returned calls. If they don’t call me by tomorrow AM should I just send them an email? I want this behind me by end of day tomorrow.
