Hi All I'm working as a QA in a product based company and have an experience of 2.7 years in both manual and automation testing. I'm trying for a switch in a SDET role, but now my current company is offering me the role of a Product Manager. Can anyone share your thoughts on what should I do? Is SDET a better role or a PM as a point of career growth ?

People realize the recession is only just starting right? So far we have only had a few rate rises, with many more to come. Stocks are down a little, but only just barely into bear territory. Major companies will be reporting large losses soon, but that hasn't happened yet, and the market will react to that. No major companies have begun large layoffs yet, either, so far we are only seeing a few minor hiring freezes. And of course we haven't seen bankruptcies yet, but they are surely coming.

Anyone work any part-time weekend jobs? Have some big expenses coming up that won't necessarily be covered by my primary role and curious to hear some anecdotes.

Post-Covid, I just cannot seem to find the inspiration to network at a conference such as the AWS DC summit. I initially wanted to get facetime with vendors to check out potential job openings. But it just feels like a large circle jerk where no productive work gets done. And besides all keynote addresses are recorded and available online anyway. Wondering if anyone out there feels differently or has had better experiences from these events? #aws

From a non-target school and trying to break into operations & strategy consulting roles with tier 2 firms or product roles in tech. Realistic? 2 YoE as independent/ freelance consultant with various businesses, networking extensively, almost done with a specialized operations mgmt masters (non-mba). In general, does a series of short term (3-6 mos) contract work look good on resumes or make recruiters pause? I’m thinking it’s a good way to get experience with different industries quickly.
