For those that invested in real estate rentals, how did you systematically approach finding a good property? Realized most of my stock investments was just gambling and I don’t want to gamble on a RE investment. Read a few books but none of them go into how to actually find a good deal/city.

I am traveling out of town for callback interviews. One firm wants me to commit a full day of interviews. Would it be reasonable to ask for a half day so I can fit 2 callbacks in the same day?

Got laid off couple of weeks back. I was part of a hot offering. Here are two options I able after couple of interviews:

a) contracting with one of our ex-client (worked with them a year back) - pays 4x of my last salary;
b) full time offer with niche consulting firm (#3 in this area..#1 is Deloitte, #2 is Accenture- 55% higher than last role)

My idea consulting exit as per my career plan would be a
1) PM role in some enterprise software company, or
2) something in MBBs.

I’m about a month post FET, and after a positive beta I was feeling all of the classic symptoms (like nausea) from like week 5-6. So I received an offer from a digital start up at for a freelance long term contract. The $ was so low as I would be accountable for my own taxes and benefits that I had to request a significant increase. In my email I broke down why I was requesting more $ and where the money would go - which should be more than enough. They got back to me telling me I was rude for to ask for more money directly and should be grateful to have a job offer at all. Would they say that to me if I were a man?
