I’ve always gotten the advice that when you want to switch jobs you should take interviews from places you’re not actually interested in, so you can understand your value in the market and have better negotiating power. I’m doing that rn - took a couple interviews to gauge my skills, my market value, and see what I need to work on for interviews that I actually care about. However, I feel really guilty about wasting their time and going all the way knowing I’ll just say no at the end. Wwyd?
Hey guys, got an offer from a niche consulting firm with a great reputation. Their pay is lower in comparison to market but is currently higher than mine. Would it be appropriate to ask them for future Green Card sponsorship / include it as part of the offer letter (obviously, upon meeting satisfaction requirements). Need your advice on negotiating here. BTW, I’m from the UK.
For current management consultants pursuing a full time 1 Year MBA program, what are your post-MBA plans? Why are you pursuing a 1 Year program? Do you want to pivot out of consulting?
My school has decided to bring all students back and put them all in the classroom. I have 29 students with the potential of 32. I don’t feel comfortable with this. We are supposed to try to keep 6 ft between isles, but in the row of students they are desk to desk. So shoulder to shoulder 6ft or less. Face to face is about 2ft, and some are much closer....... does anyone else have this going on at their school?

Ladies have you ever fallen for a guy over text? This guy is so hot and cold with me and we’ve never met - but have such a great time texting. It’s so confusing. He lives 4.5 hours away from me and works 6 days a week (sometimes 7). We were supposed to meet some time back and then his mom got sick and then I got covid and then he got this job... and we never met again. What do I do ? He rarely ever initiates conversations these days, but when I do message him he’s on a roll.
How is the structure of Medical Insurance in Accenture? In offer letter it is written "Accenture negotiated rates for parents". 20% copay for parents and 10% for self, spouse and children. Can anybody give full details? How much premium for parents. Is it beneficial or should I opt for 3rd party insurance? Also do Accenture medical insurance include OPD reimbursements ?
Why does it feel like all agencies are either totally award obsessed or business obsessed. Is there no agency that can exist with those two working hand in hand? Why must one always come at the expense of the other. Am I just jaded? Idk tbh
Decided that I’m leaving audit today. Trying to understand the full range of opportunities in forensics. Will have my CPA and CFE. So far, I understand that there are client-serving firms like FTI and then the B4 will have forensics arms as well. What are some other forensic accounting roles? Pros and cons? Better than audit? Honestly just looking to learn anything.

What industry opportunities are available for a healthcare consultant with policy expertise and some experience in HIT? I have 5.5 YOE in consulting, 2 health related masters MPH Epidemiology and MSW Social Policy from an Ivy League. I’m don’t mind the WLB in consulting but I’m just tired of the environment and want to do something meaningful that pays well.
Moved from US to Canada recently. Finding work culture in Can way different. Giving direct and straight feedback is almost a sin. I feel the real and rigor to walk an extra mile for the client is almost missing. Not sure if it's just time or if this is Canada way. Any quick tips?
