How different is the role of an Art Director at an agency vs. client side? Currently finishing up an internship & I am interested switching to art direction.
Looking for possible jr & sr level ad/designers. Client side on an innovative industry. Would work on social + retail as well with our other agencies. DM your links.
One of the partners at the firm asked me if I can move my marriage (already planned and shared dates 3months back) to next year as there is lot of work to be done for the client. I am always grateful, as for everything I have learnt in consulting is at this company. But asking me to reconsider one of the most important events in my personal life against a project. Is that right? How do you care for your work and employer anymore after this?
Need counsel: Left advertising to go client side last year. Working at a huge company isn’t for me long-term but the money is great, I have more balance and actually raised my kids this year. I have the opportunity to be a c-suite leader at a very small agency on the rise. Super confused. Money will be less, long-term opportunity will be more. Also thinking about having another kid soonish.
Partners (at Deloitte at least), are you all trained to refer to everyone as “good people” when speaking to them? I find it a bit disingenuous when Partners who I just met tell me I’m “good people”, “do great work”. I just scheduled a first networking call with you, or got pulled in to your project 2 seconds ago. I know you barely know me 😆
Just started at a place that’s a bit smaller, and older on average. So far everyone is nice, the client is decent, the work is ok and the office is pretty empty by 5:30. Not used to this!
Well the good news is that my manager said it would be done by Monday morning to the client. The bad news is that he sent that email to the client at 7pm Friday and never texted me. Wait both are bad.
This week is my last week at my current company, I am joinig Slalom Consulting in few weeks. My current employer wants to hire me as a part time contractor, in case they need me for a project. I’m not sure if it is against my new employment agreement. Does anybody have any idea about this? Who should I check with before I sign that contractor agreement?
Anyone witness slackers who got into companies you have no idea how? Had a coworker who does jack chit at work besides chatting on Facebook yet lands at a faang company? I guess if he brings the same work ethic he will be spit out for sure. Or maybe he just had no interest in doing project work.
In your opinion, what’s the expected response time for standard emails (not time sensitive, normal client/partner). 48 hours? 24 hours? 12? Depends?
Started at PwC last week on Tuesday (Associate 2 not senior like my profile says). I’ve never done client facing work before. Should I be reaching out to be placed on an engagement or will I be connected via TalentLink?PwC
Partners: we've noticed how hard you've worked on this project where we completely abandoned you, did not supply you with adequate resources to complete your task, and rebuffed every attempt you made to ask for assistance. So we just wanted to take this moment to tell you that hopefully this has been a learning opportunity and you'll know better than to let us do that in the future.
No matter how many years I’ve freelanced, I still find it difficult to accurately (and fairly) predict how many hours a project will take in order to bid on it (and bake in revisions). Any tips or tricks out there?
If all the top consulting firms made anonymous decks or gave anonymous pitches to a client, eg no branding and the client did not know which firm made which deck, do you actually think that the client would prefer MBB? Is MBB actually coming up with better/more innovative solutions? I feel like I see many repeat or slightly altered solutions on almost all of my cases, are these really things that people at Deloitte/Accenture etc aren’t coming up with?
I’m inundated with client work. Definitely working >12 hour days resulting in no time to offer support with RFPs, practice development, etc. I feel like this will work against me come promo. Thoughts?
How is important is it to follow the lead of your project? Client is working with the SC’s directly and bypasses the M on this project. I feel like I’m more successful following the SC on this project than the M.
Starting a project in Minneapolis and I'm looking for cute shoes that are also good for winter weather. I'm thinking cute booties or just warm shoes and change in the office. Any recommendations??

Are these positive signs during the final round interview with the big boss i had today? 1) asked for my timeline and when i can start the earliest, 2) listed all the political challenges the team is facing today and neighboring teams that are difficult to work with. Am i over-reading?
Switching from consulting to PE, what should I expect in terms of salary (and potential future earnings) and WLB? Currently an Associate at MBB, and I have startup/tech background. I was approached by a headhunter about this opportunity and I'm super interested, however, would like to know more to see if it's worth it. Thank you!
Just a shout-out to all the LGBTQ+ consultants who are not in heteronormative relationships. Every time I read threads here wherein folks assume that someone posting about a wife or girlfriend is a man, or someone with a husband is a woman, I feel invisible. This also happens to me at work - colleagues and clients incorrectly assume the gender of my spouse. Please remember that there are men married to men, women married to women, and same-gender couples with kids. We exist!
If a client already has a beneficiary IRA and wants to roll it over, do you have to have a death certificate?
I met this guy on Tinder and we have been chatting for 10 days. He is super hot and nice. But for some reason I felt that he is too perfect to be real. Even though we haven’t met, he is unbelievably sweet when we were texting and said things like “diner is boring without you”. He also has unreal life stories like he’s a cancer researcher and had tragic family stories. Has anyone encountered a scam like this? I feel that something is off but the guy still hasn’t asked for money or anything
Shoutout to delta first class for bringing me 5 vodka sodas ina sub4 hour flight Didnt want to do work anyway
Any insights into turn around time for interviews and hiring in federal government jobs? I’ve applied to a couple on USAJobs and right now it just says that applications are being reviewed. Wondering if anyone else has any experience with the hiring process
Friend was laid off last year and said you get 2 months severance for every year with the firm -- can anyone validate? Is this the case for all levels?
Can we talk about the “Rise & Grind” / “Hustle Culture” aspect that seems to be organically baked into our role as Producers. Of course, it is what it is to some degree- but I’ve realized, in order to do my job effectively, my rest & work-life balance is a MUST. How have you handled that? Or do you just power through?
Can someone please help me with refering in Tcs or Accenture for Technical Project Manager or Senior Project Manager role really need your help i am looking for a job change. firstname.lastname@example.org
Anyone know or hear anything on when the Bain/McK match for current employees might be coming? https://managementconsulted.com/bcg-to-increase-base-salary/
Thoughts on Delta Partners? (The TMT firm)
I'm a non tech professional, who is working in a role that is almost of an account manager. I'm inclined towards being a PM. Please could you suggest market required skills and proficiencies
Got an offer for a job that will start in February of 2022. I’m planning on giving my 2 weeks soon and taking a 2-3 month break before the next position starts to just relax and take some time off. I’m young now (mid 20s) and I don’t think I’ll get a chance to take several months off between jobs again after this. Will this gap in employment be a potential issue down the road? I may be thinking too much into this, but would like some advice. TIA
