They’re synonymous in my opinion. Utilization review is clinical review. Concurrent review are the follow up reviews.
I work in a hospital doing Utilization Review/Utilization Management. We prioritize initial reviews for new patients, but the next day of a couple days later we do follow up or concurrent reviews.
I think different companies title the same role differently.
Thanks for clarifying. Do you have to do a lot of calls like case managers do?
RN1 got it right. And I think another factor to consider is the hospital/facility you work in. They might have the same or different job descriptions.
