If you don't have time to shop around for a CPA in your local area, you might consider a bigger chain firm like H&R Block or Liberty. Either way, you'll want to act quickly, because most CPAs are going to be booking up or booked by now.

I just logged in for open enrollment and see that my benefit costs are increasing quite a bit. Family of 4 - medical/dental/vision will be about $345/pay period plus whatever I contribute to my HSA. Is this the norm now or is this way too much? We are also on an income based rate plan and I recently crossed into the bottom of the most expensive tier so it’s an even bigger hit over the normal YoY increase.

Just found out this morning that my H1B RFE got approved! Submitted the RFE documents on 11/17, approval on 12/4. I found out from the USCIS website. My lawyer hasn’t told me anything.

For those whose big 4 employers sponsored their visa to the US, how long are you required to work for that firm before leaving?

I’d love honest reactions to help ease my mind. I’ve been paying lower rent (like 1400) in HCOL city last few years. Finally debt free from grad school as of this year. Total comp is now low 200k. Does 2800 for rent (im looking at new leases this week) feel high? Moderate? Just want a pulse check on if I’m being reasonable with the 2800, compared to how others think about it. I think it’s ok given HCOL and I now work from home. Disclaimer: this isn’t humble brag stuff. I just want real advice.

Hi all, I'm looking at immigration in the next few years (American engaged to a Canadian).
