Hello! I need advice. I have 5 years of digital marketing, project and team management experience. I’ve been doing design work w/o realizing ux/ui was a career since the beginning. I didn’t keep record of those projects but I created a portfolio to show proof of knowledge/skill but it’s not lengthy. I know how to use design software, wireframe, prototype, and I do feel like a lot of my knowledge/ skills are relevant. Should I be going after Jr, mid or senior lvl UI roles?
Sounds solid for non MBA
That’s a good recruiter tactic. Like they are doing you a favor. How nice of them! … get smart, always ask for more and ask for 25k sign-on. I promise you, you’ll get the 20k sign on so they don’t have to bump up your base.
Negotiate, negotiate again, and then negotiate some more - They are counting on it. Never be the decision maker in these sessions. Let them know what all it would take to get you on board.
For instance, you could tell them if they can bump up the base to $185k, then you would be open to coming onboard with a $10k sign on bonus.. or may be its 165k with 30k sign on bonus… whichever is your target. Good luck!
Agreed
I think it’s a solid base for HC (not the best possible though). Ask for $20k sign on
Its Decent, I as an SC have base of 165k, I know few SC’s promoted to M’s in last couple of years and their base was 180k+. Catch with sign on bonus is if you leave in certain years you have to pay it back prorated.
What’s team and recruiter, I’m in HCAAS
Ok ask for more base! Do you have consulting background? We have offered 180k recently with 20K sign on.
They worked with me on base - I didn’t ask for higher sign on
Are you GPS or Commercial?
Negotiate base. Not sure if it is a solid base for HCAAS.. commercial strategy should be 200+
Strategy pays very differently than HC I think
I feel it’s kinda low. There are SCs getting this salary. How many YOE?
D8, do you have a target school MBA?
Ask for $180 and $20k sign on. I got $160/$25k as an SC
D8 that 160k/25k sign on offer was also for HCAAS?
HC pays less. They could definitely go higher than 162 but I don’t think it’s necessarily a bad spot in the band for that group.
I'm thinking hcaas is about to offer me M Level at $160-165k so in a similar situation
