Hi - does anyone have recos for a smart watch? I had a Fitbit before and loved it. I’m also considering an Apple Watch. I mostly just run/bike. I also want to track my sleep quality. I also have an iPhone, so something that syncs well with that.

Garmin Forerunner 965 has been great for tri training. Apple Watch isn’t comparable.

REI just had a big sale on Garmin watches. Picked up a forerunner 955

The battery life is great, plenty of metrics/data screens configuration, and I like the look of it. You can create a route on Garmin or Strava and get turn by turn directions on your watch for hiking, running, cycling, etc. This has been my first Garmin and I really like it so far.

Somewhat expected, but it has been a bit of an adjustment getting used to the UI differences and actually using the watch after upgrading from an Apple Watch 4. I have started to figure it out though.

Garmin is great, no issues with iPhone syncing and I’ve gotten years of service from my fenix5 with no complaints - mainly running / cycling. Also get very used to getting notification in the watch.

Highly recommend the Apple Watch. I don’t use it to track my sleep though, so I can’t speak to that.

helpfulfunny

Well, it probably saved my life in that it gave me a notification I was experiencing AFib. I didn’t even know what it was so there’s that. I also like that it can locate my phone, give me reminders, track my steps, swims and workouts. Overall, I think it’s an excellent device.

Is it worth having a cinderblock on your wrist? Any larger just get a strap your iPhone and put it on your wrist.. lol

I used to do the watch but felt too connected since it also sent me texts, etc. and I didn't think gave me enough health insights. I recently picked up the Oura ring and absolutely love it. It tracks sleep, stress, heart rate - all the good stuff and none of the things I found annoying about the watch. For women, it also helps track your menstrual cycle.

So I was +1 for the Garmin, but if you are expanding your search outside of watches, def recommend the Ōura as well. I wear both a Garmin watch and Ōura ring but rely on my ring for stats over the Garmin

+1 for Garmin

I love my fitbit sense!
It's excellent at tracking sleep. I can keep track of fitness, food, blood sugar, and get messages (text & email). I can answer calls, too. If you're looking for more fitness, then fitbit sense or sense 2 would be great. My husband got Samsung to track health stats, but he feels like he wasted his money. I love my fitbit, though. 😍

Fitbit and Garmin not much different from vitals perspective. But what leaned me over to Garmin was the Ant+ capabilities to hook up my hart rate/cadence/speed sensors for my road bike and mountain bike.. does fitbit allow you to connect ant+?

This is really helpful for me too. Just started trail running again and neeed a watch BAD so ty everyone 💫

“Can we make the drizzle a little more luscious?”

My issue is less with the fact that the word “luscious” is pretty binary. The drizzle is either luscious or it isn’t. My issue is the “a little more” part. So, it’s luscious right now. We want it MORE luscious—but definitely not a lot more, just a little. Otherwise it would be TOO luscious. Can’t have that.

Just venting here… At WAS for an adjustment interview based on an affirmative asylum and the officer said he’s never done and affirmative adjustment before… and questioned my client when he said that he has never been in proceedings. Officer said “I don’t agree with that, I think you *have* been in proceedings” when we submitted the affirmative asylum approval and I had to show that to him smh. Why aren’t they training these officers 😭

Out school is mostly remote, but we do have about 60 students on campus every day. We have 2 administrators, 1 hired this year! The head principal leaves before most teachers, doesn’t seem to have enough to do. He’s constantly tracking grades AND the district installed a program that allows admin to view our screens anytime they want. He put multiple monitors in his office so he wan “watch” us. We have no sports. Few discipline issues. Not sure why we have 2 admin.

Any thoughts on the best certifications to get in order to help move forward? I have considered the CCP from World at Work, but it’s fairly pricey to get by the time you wrap up everything. I was looking at both SHRM-CP and SPHR. Everyone that I have spoken to has the SHRM, but that’s also only looking at individuals in a small geographic footprint and within 3-4 different companies. I was hoping to get some thoughts on this from others? Thanks
