Hi, does anyone know if speech therapy for kids is covered by insurance before meeting the deductible? I’m under the high deductible UHC plan.

You have to push for it. I have UHC high deductible and they initially denied the claims. After the provider submitted enough documentation, they approved 30 visits per year. But I do still need to meet my deductible.

I’m sure it’s different by state, but check with your school district to see if they offer support based on your child’s age. In Texas, once a child is 3, they can be evaluated to determine if they meet the threshold for speech services. The ISD provides those services without charge (other than what we already pay in the form of school taxes).

Feeling really lonely this holiday season and I think it's time for a change. I love my job but I'm realizing I devote too much time to it. I would really like to expand my social circle and potentially meet someone, but I don't really know where to start. Ideally my partner would also work in healthcare, but it isn't a dealbreaker for me. Ladies what should I do?? I'm a 32 year old woman with no kids.

Anyone know of anything that’s work from home?

I was recently (in April) fired from a good nursing position that I was at for 5 years. I reached out to my old ADON to get some information on where we had our vaccinations from and she told me that I should come back and the administrator that I had issues with is gone. Is this something I should even consider? I miss my patients and some of my coworkers and the pay is better, but I don't feel like I would really be welcome to come back.

Maybe I’m biased due to having poor luck, but why is dating so hard? Everyone just wants the next best thing and no one is ever satisfied. One argument and people sprint for the door instead of reconciling as they have “options.”

People on dating apps seem like they’re only on there to validate themselves to feel better when they get “likes” or “swipes,” but will not respond when messaged.

I honestly don’t think true love is a real thing.

One of your roommates (and a close friend that you’ve known for years) has a flight to catch. He has a suitcase, a duffle bag (no wheels), and a backpack. In order for him to get to the airport would you:

A) offer to drive him to the airport that’s about .5 miles away (5 minute drive)

B) tell him to order an Uber since you know his work would pay for it

C) tell him to not be lazy and walk half a mile to the nearest public transportation stop, with all that luggage, and take public transit

Just need to vent. MIL came over for dinner tonight. Our youngest was fussing so she put her up. She wouldn't stop crying so I went up there...well no wonder, you have her light on! So I turn it off and play it off as a let's see if this will help. She calmed down and all was well. Then, she started fussing again so MIL went back up...and turned the light on. Didn't take her out of the crib or anything, just turned the light on and patted her back. Turn the damn light off and keep it off.
