I think you probably need to see "your coach" as their coach".
This coach works for administration. The coach is loyal to them. Their agenda comes first .
I had a similar thing happen to me. The coach isn't there for you, they are there for the admins to be able to collect data on you and your students, and look for reasons and justifications on your evaluations.
Once I realized that my coach wasn't there to help me or ease things along, I lost my need for one.
I'm a coach. It's hard. Oftentimes we're under pressure you all don't even know about to get certain results. I would talk to your coach, especially if you had a good relationship in the past. If it doesn't do any good, then you know what and who you're dealing with and can act accordingly. Best case scenario the coach goes back to working with and not against you and adjusts their actions.
This is excellent advice w some understanding behind it. Good perspective.
I would have the conversation. I would rather know than wonder. Knowing gives me a better frame of mind and a “truer” sense of the person.
Coaches are teachers that are trying to transition out of the classroom for one reason or another. They are seeking positions as future administrators. In a previous organization I worked with we referred to this as “Raising my flag by lowering yours”, Be very careful this person is not there to help you they are there to help themselves.
Have a conversation about how you are feeling about the situation. If you do not get the response or reason to problem then speak with your union rep about your rights. At this point in our country we have to depend on our unions to protect us.
