Hi everyone. Currently I work as a tipped employee, but I’m interviewing for a salary art gallery job and the annual pay is about half what I’m making at a restaurant! How do I negotiate that without seeming greedy? Or do I even say anything? Help (it’s my first salary job)

You will not seem greedy by asking! Try seeing if the job at the gallery has a typical salary range of what you’re looking for. At the end of the day, you shouldn’t feel like you need to take on a second job with salary, although depending on the type of work you unfortunately may end up with a lower annual pay based on tips/overtime you may have gotten at the restaurant

Always negotiate. Its not being greedy at all. Always advocate for more.

Been in sales for 7 years (door to door, telecom,BDR,) I interviewed for a closing position and after submitting a demo presentation and 2 mock emails they have moved be forward for the last “wrap up call”. Any tips and advice for this?

Does this mean I’m being highly considered? Or are they just going along like many companies do. This is a Norway based Saas company.

My hospital told us we were getting a 25% hourly increase but only gave us 8% but gave the whole amount to select departments because of their retention issues. Now it’s been 8 months and we still haven’t gotten it. I’ve spoken to our director and our director of nursing. We are being told they have no idea when we will get our raise. What can I do about it? Our HR is incompetent and could careless about any of us. I want to go to corporate about it.
Any advice?

Need advice. Leadership originally referred to us as Specialists. For the past month or so, they've been telling us we're Project Managers in absolutely no uncertain terms.

But they have told us flat-out (even when asked directly) that we won't get a salary change or even just a title change. What should we do? It seems unethical at the very least.

I'm coming to the end of a contract term and being converted to FTE.

The offer was presented to me by the hiring manager and not HR/Recruiter. To me it is a lower base salary offer than expected, so I asked for info on the total compensation package (base, benefits, bonus, stock/rsu, etc.), which I was told about when they took me on under the contract with the intention to convert.

Hiring manager sends me an email with only standard benefits, no bonus, etc. Are these red flags?

What's up everyone? I saw a salary survey posted earlier. What do y'all think I should make at a litigation boutique that handles primarily business litigation on a contingency fee? No billable hours.

Do I need to disclose my non-compete contract if this company is clearly not a competitor and HR did not ask during the interview?

My partner just got his first job offer in Canada (Toronto) as an Account Manager Technical Sales in oil and gas sector. They required 2-5 years sales experience. He has about 8 years of experience selling the same product in an Asian market. They have offered him a base pay of 68k plus some comission (they haven't said what percentage it would be yet). Based on glassdoor, it seems like this is the very bottom of their range. Does this sound fair just because he has no Canadian experience?
