If you can maybe take a walk during the sunny hours! It helped me a lot. If you have meetings stacked back to back at that time maybe take a meeting from one of your walks of you are not presenting.

Sounds like everyone I speak with as well. 😕 Are you starting work at 7:30-8 bc you’ve got calls or bc you’re trying to play catch up? If you’re playing catch-up, know that you’ll always be playing catch-up. You’ll be more productive with your work hours if you let yourself sleep in until 8:30. Or use that time to do some yoga. I’ve blocked out my calendar in the middle of the day to at least walk away from my laptop or any other screens. Maybe around lunch. Sometimes right when I hit my wall around 3pm. Emails will roll in regardless; you’ll get back to them as quickly as you can. Pls know you’re not alone in your feelings. This year has been exhausting and draining. No one is doing their best work right now. Don’t beat yourself up. Take care of your health and your work productivity will follow.

I've found breaking away to even do a couple quick chores around the house throughout the day is helpful. It gets my body moving which I miss just walking from meeting to meeting! It also makes me feel like I'm not slacking since I'm doing something productive with that time. That said, im also a big fan of the quick power lunch nap these days too 🙂 ur so not alone in feeling the drain of this year ❤

Definitely block time - like minimum 30 mins but ideally 60 - during midday for a walk, yoga, breathing, etc - something that gets you off a screen and seeing sunlight. If that means going a little longer at night, so be it. Also, add vitamin d to your supplements and add 5 mins of meditation or deep breathing daily!!

Take time off, even if you’re just sitting around not working. I know it’s hard to do but it’s so essential.

like

Block off time during your days to take a break. Your eyes need it! Make sure you’re off your phone/laptop while eating lunch. Try to take a short walk in between meetings if you can - even if it’s just 10 min. You’re not expected to be on 100% of the time. Set yourself to away on Slack so your co-workers know you will not be responding immediately. Set those boundaries.

Question for fishes who love WFH and claim that they get to spend so much more time with friends and family b/c of it: do all your friends and family also WFH and have the same increased availability as you do? For instance, I WFH, but most of my family and friends still have to go to work due to the nature of their professions - so it's not like I can call my doctor friend or my electrical engineer friend and invite them to hang out during the day.

I had an argument with opposing counsel last week and was seeing red for hours after that, and little things seem to bother me much much more than they would have before
