Hi everyone! I am currently going through blockchain technology concepts and currently going through the concept of private blockchain. I find it hard to digest. Why should we use it? It kills the overall purpose of blockchain. Any thoughts or explanations?

I think the future will hold a mix of private and public blockchain - private blockchain are great for inter-operability of systems since they don't need a massive p2p network for security (provided all nodes can truly be trusted, which in practice for pretty much every company, they can). Public blockchain are more useful for inter-party connections rather than intra-party

There is no point in a private blockchain. Was all the rage in 2014/2015 when public blockchains and bitcoin were declared dead

Private blockchains serve all kinds of purposes even if they're not optimized for trustless distributed systems. Walmart and IBM optimized one for tracking food provenance that cut their identification time from six days to two seconds or so. It is optimized for totally different scenario that bitcoin or ether or ethereum but can still be a huge value add

Pro of consulting: top hotel and airline status. Con of consulting: being asked to book rooms and flights for every wedding and bachelor party because of said status. #weddingseason

For benchmarking I think it’d be helpful for all on here to see starting comp. (undergrad or MBA) at top consulting firms: Firm: Base salary: Total possible per. bonus: Profit share: 401K:

Hey all! Currently live in DC and thinking about moving to either: Los Angeles, Austin, Seattle, or stay in DC. Where would you move/live considering: cost of living, housing prices, and job market. I feel like LA has a rough job market in terms of competitiveness of applications compared to DC/Austin but benefits elsewhere. Feel free to share anything else I should know! Thanks!

I have full support for promotion from my Engagement Mgr, CFL, Competency Leader. If I don’t get it, should I leave EY? Also, I am at 106k now. What is a good M1 sal? SAP PI Advisory.

I think PGA/LPGA camera operators are very under appreciated. I mean, the skill it takes to spot, zoom in, and track a tiny golf ball flying through the air at 150+mph over and over and from multiple angles is incredible. I literally can’t follow my own golf ball leaving my club much less someone else’s with a camera mounted on my shoulder.

When do you expect to receive a raise? 1, 1.5, 2 years? Less or more?

Taxes are not a strong suit of mine; can someone explain why the 1K bta bonus we got today had taxes much higher that regular pay? My total tax % is usually about 30% but the bonus taxes were 40%?

I’ve heard Accenture is a better place for high performing POC to navigate vs. Deloitte. Deloitte seems to only care about white, male, MBA college recruits with no families. Thoughts?

Can anyone share how they have terminated/laid off during a virtual only environment? Specifically several people at once. How does the process/logistics look? Wondering what is the best process/logistics to take for those being let go. Also, for those who stay, what worked best -communication wise? How have you handled equipment and any other security considerations given that the person(s) are not in the office.
