Hi everyone! I am looking for some feedback on a situation. I have been in my role for 4 months now. I am the only solely HR dedicated employee. We have 175+ employees over 3 states. I handle all benefit admin, payroll issues, employee relations (hiring, terms, investigations), legal compliance, onboarding, training, and manage HRIS. I have no previous HR experience. In my interview, I was told the role was entry level specialist, and I negotiated my salary for that type of role. Is this normal?

LMAO NO.
The ONLY thing I'd adjust for is if they have an HRBP via something like adp but even then would expect the HRBP to partner with an hr manager or Sr. Generalist not an entry level hr associate. Not. At. All.
Edit to ad: Lmao directed at whoever had the audacity to hire you into these circumstances.
If you're doing the work and holding things down then the time has come for a position/pay adjustment.
Wow! Sounds like the position I’m in right now! New start up! Manufacturing. No front line supervisors capable of training all of the people I’m hiring to fill 3 shifts of a 24 hr operation. I’m a lone cowgirl working my a** off doing everything from recruiting to drafting policies and conducts investigations because male managers can’t act right. Crazy. I feel your pain! And appreciate the responses you’ve received. It has woken me up! Money will not fix it. Bottom line is more time is needed for tasks. And that mean more hands need to be brought on to delegate. Thanks everyone for the wake up call.
Honestly, I would just start looking for a new job. That’s a huge red flag and they are really putting you at risk. For example, if any employee relations issue are ever elevated to litigation (which is much more likely in such an understaffed HR department), you could be in a terrible situation. This sounds like a very toxic company. Take the experience you’ve gained there and find a new company.
The bad news is, you have an insane caseload (and a company that has entrusted a lot to someone with no HR experience). The good news is, you've either a great case for hiring on more HR staff, or a great resume for a better HR position elsewhere.
