At our startup, female employees are entitled to 4 months of maternity leave on 50% pay, and if they leave within 6 months of returning they have to repay all of it. They also have the option of going on unpaid leave. There’s no paternity leave. Suffice it to say that our pay and benefits leave much to be desired. South African startup, ~80 people at the time I signed. I’d rather not share the name for anonymity.

Keep inmind the 60% disability is tax free so your net pay is closer to 85% of what you were earning.
