My EOY review is coming up. Here I plan to lobby for a promotion/raise (been at company for 1.5 yrs). Some backstory: During my hiring process I was told by my now boss and VP they were also going to hire a senior engineer to help me along. They never hired such senior engineer because I have over performed and do more than they thought I could (have been told this in 2 performance reviews). Thus, is it fair to ask for a raise and promotion to Senior engineer?

I recently started a new role at senior level and feel a bit out of my depth…I’ve not contributed as much as I have liked on this project, but have definitely delivered. Shall I stop beating myself up about it?

My role was just eliminated, and I need to replace it quickly. I have a solid lead on a new job but based on the job description I think it’s gonna be a lot less than I was making. I’ve seen people on one of the bowls mention working 2 full time jobs, like in different time zones or countries. Does anyone have any concrete advice on how to start that process? I know my client needs an Accounting Manager. I know this because they’re startup med device company that has their books in complete shambles. The current accounting team isn’t very strong. I have been working at a new company for about 3 months now. While I have tried to adjust to the new environment, I have struggled immensely as I have a largely unavailable boss and the company culture is much more hierarchical and stress inducing than I anticipated. If I left, would it be difficult to find a new role? Would the 3 month blip just be too glaring for recruiters? For context was at my last company for almost 4 years.

I work for a company with a pretty generous PTO policy and a mostly remote flex policy (4 days a month in office if within 75 miles of the building). One thing I’m wondering if there is a way to help us I get the “I’m taking a mental health day” call out regularly which causes a strain on the rest of the team because we were unable to prepare like we would with pre-planned PTO. Any ideas of things I can do as a manager to encourage pre-planned PTO instead of these call outs?

This feels like kind of a weird question but does anyone ever feel bad for doing too well at work? I’ve recently had a few coworkers be really mean to me for getting chosen for opportunities that they wanted and for getting recognition for things that they wanted credit for alone. I know I’ve earned the opportunities and recognition but it sucks when everyone is tearing you down for it. I’ve also found it harder to relate to my friends who are mostly struggling financially right now.

EY offer letter compensation structure doesn't have any mention of gratuity? But its written below that "beside this you will be eligible for gratuity". Will it be deducted from the given compensation or it will be given in addition to given compensation????

Has anyone here been able to recover from career setbacks caused by Dot Com, 9-11, or Great Recession economy? Just turned 40 with 15 years of relevant industry experience, and my Big 4 employer brought me in at a level designed for 25 year-olds. Career progression is apparently based on time in role rather than performance, so I’ll have to spend 8 years climbing back to the level I was at pre-recession. Is there another way, or is my career stuck in neutral?

I have 25+ years experience in Telco managing IT Implementations/Software Dev/Business Solutions working with developers, architects. Mostly serving as TPM and Business architect. How’s the best way to get my foot in the door?

I’ve talked with one firm based in Geneva, and their benefit packages were stellar but they froze hiring.

I was reached out by a recruiter at PwC for salesforce position. The recruiter mentioned with my 3 YOE, all in consulting with 1 of it being in SF implementation, I would come in as experienced associate or maybe a senior associate. My understanding is associate is same as analyst as Deloitte. Is this correct? Also what’s the salary range I should aim for? I mentioned at least 120K total.

< 4 years of Salesforce experience. Got an offer that’s a 25% increase for a small company as a senior dev. Doesn’t seem challenging compared to consulting. Worth it or am I thinking too short term?
