Fishes, I have a job title question. Does it matter if a role is in the same project with different titles? Example: SA, State and Local, Researcher vs SA, State and Local, Business Analyst. The job description makes it sound like they are the same project. However, Business Analyst does have more requirements/qualifications listed than Researcher. I’m coming from industry (3 YOE). Can anyone tell me whats the median salary for Functional Safety Engineer? I had an offer for 140k (it was a 6 month contract position though). I will also be getting an offer internally at my current work place (which is full time) . Since full time offers more job security. I am not expecting them to match or put in an offer close to that amount, but just wanted to get an estimate.

Went through all Tiktok rounds (1 recruiter, 3 PM, and 1 HR). Wrapped up my final interview with HR 2 weeks ago and they said that they would have an update by the end of the week, but to reach out to the recruiter the following Monday if I didn’t get an update.
I followed up last Monday and the recruiter told me they’re still interested, but they’re awaiting further guidance from the hiring team. Didn’t hear from her again, so I followed up yesterday and no reply. Any feedback about this?

Am I understanding utilization rate correctly? It’s chargeable time over total time? Charged 40 hours and had 10 hours non-charge so my utilization is 80%? If so, wouldn’t it benefit me to understate non-charge hours so my utilization is higher since they only really care about chargeable time anyways? Charge 40 hours still but only put 5 hours non-charge for utilization to be 89% instead of 80%? Or am I misunderstanding how utilization works?

Left public accounting as an Audit Manager to take a Controller position in private. Realizing I don’t want to get stuck in a Controller position LT and would like to possibly be in FP&A if I stayed in private. Have always had an interest in FDD and I am considering leaving private for FDD. Any thoughts on this potential move & if it would improve my chances of getting into FP&A later on?
