I personally think the skill set gained at the startup is more valuable and marketable than writing and PR for a venture firm.

To opine a bit more - the venture job seems like a once in a lifetime opportunity to sort of become a public intellectual and perhaps break into venture but I don’t have soo much experience doing this that I’m sure I’ll love it. It just seems cool and dreamy and like I would have a lot of independence.
Where as, getting into a cool visionary start up in an operator role just seems like a great thing to do. The upside is probably going to be a lot higher, and my career skills are probably better aligned to this role however it will be a learning curve.
In some ways both feel too good to pass up, and like they will put me on really different paths. I am having a really hard time deciding on this… any sage wisdom?
Just be careful regarding the actual potential growth within the startup. Progression tends to be slow and learning curve steep at beginning but drops off quick
Startup would be my choice but not long term.
