Hi everyone. I started to work in this company (first paid job) one year ago. In this year I performed well, met the goals and gave an impact to whole team from social point of view. I think my current salary is ok, but I am considering asking for a small raise now, after one year has passed. The increase would not change my life but would make me appreciated and valued. Is it too early to ask for a raise or it’s legit? I have a very good relationship with my boss and I don’t want to fuck up.

There is no reason not to ask for a raise. Does your company have a evaluation process annually? This is what raises are usually awarded. If you ask your boss for a raise make sure that you have all of the information that you need to prove that you have brought value to the company and deserve the raise." I did this, and it resulted in that".
Good Luck

Hi, I work at a regional accounting firm with about 13 offices. I’m coming up on my 1 year anniversary and annual reviews. What’s a fair salary increase range? I found out an intern was offered $2000 more than me, granted, she’s worked 2 tax seasons with them before being hired on. More info about my situation, this is an entry position at the firm and I’m still working on obtaining my CPA. I get complemented on how well my performance is and I’m always ready to accept new work/more work.

This question might anger some, but not meant to be provoking. Does anyone else feel that half the jobs in tech (scrum master, project manager, product manager, etc.) are more hindering than helpful? I feel like productivity would sky rocket if we didn’t have 10+ hours a week added of admin work/agile ceremonies/status meetings, and you just let developers and analysts do their job. Why are we spending hours learning how to estimate story points (for example) rather than improving production?

Interested in any opinions, I have been with my company now for almost a year and have been interviewing with a company that I am pretty sure I will get. I like my current company but because it’s a consultant company and is based on work coming in I found myself not having much work for almost the entire time I’ve been there. Should I take the new position that will be a 20k jump in salary or stay with this company? Has anyone else had similar experiences?

I’m an attorney in small firm in downstate IL —anyone in general practice willing to share their salaries and/or how your firm structures compensation? Salaries are suuuper “hush hush” in the small legal community, and literally all across the board. Our local bar complains about not being able to attract or keep new lawyers, but it’s not really that much of a head scratcher IMO (several reasons, not just pay. But if we can’t offer big city perks, there’s got to be another incentive).

So I work for a multimillion dollar company
Here’s my dilemma. I started as a temp in the traffic department as a scheduler in April of 2021. I was making 44K a year with ZERO benefits.
I applied for a different position in logistics and got the job! BUT is came with a HUGE pay cut. I went from making 44K a year to 32K. I work my butt off and feel like I should be making more for my responsibilities. I’ve only been here a year but I do more than I should.
Is it too soon to renegotiate my pay?

I just received a job offer at a company I'm very interested in working for (yay!). Their salary offer, however, is at the bottom end of the range specified in the job ad. In my initial interview, I said that my salary expectations align with the range specified by the ad. So, my question is do I ask for more? Or do I just accept the offer? The company benefits are decent and I would get stock options, and it's fully remote - if that influences your answer.

What do y'all think?
