Hey everyone, I was recently laid off.. on November 3 actually. It’s a “temporary layoff” and I’m one of the 4 who got laid off. My return date is February 1st. Would you wait, and collect employment insurance (Canada) or start looking for a new job??
I am probably going to get laid off again for the 3rd time in 3 years. In 2 is the 3 cases i knew i was taking the job in haste out of fear/desperation. What is the job market like now?
I don't like this job and didn't like it from the beginning. I was just hoping to stick it out for a year
Is having a probation period in a company's policy a good thing or a bad thing?
I mean anyways, nobody layoffs in the probation period and the notice period is also less if someone doesn't like the organization. What are your thoughts???
I saw that the Warner Bros. Discovery group has started with massive layoffs over at CNN. Is any job safe right now?
Hi! I was recently laid off from PatientPop. Looking for a new opportunity. I’ve been in CS for 3 year in SaaS. Would love to hear any about any open opportunities you all may come across.
I’ve stopped using recruiters entirely a while back. All I continue to hear is how people get ghosted now without even letting them know they didn’t get the job or whatever happened. How many times has a person not worked out from one of these agencies? (Aerotek, Robert half, insight global). We’ve had about 5 just this year quit / get fired within a few months. All the same people who drink the corporate kool aid. Stop giving these people money. Hire with HR, people who know your business…
I’m a SaaS AE with 4 years of sales and sales recruiting experience. I’m revamping my resume and sadly due to 2 startup layoffs in the last 15 months I’ve had 3 roles.
How many job experiences on your resume is too many? How far back should I go to share my professional experience?
Any advice is appreciated!

Hey Everyone! I’ve unfortunately just got laid off from my company. This is my second time in 5 months getting laid off due to budget cuts. Quite frankly, I’m drained and in need of leads. I’m a DEI TA sourcing specialist with experience sourcing Technical, Finance, HR, Sales, Marketing, Supply Chain, Operations and Shared Services. I’m seeking a full time FINTECH company, but I’m open to opportunities because beggars can’t be choosers. Feel free me if you know of anything! —-thank you!
Hi guys! I was laid off by one of the leading IT staffing companies in Atlanta. I have 6 months of experience as a recruiter in addition to a plethora of different management and customer facing experience. I am avidly looking for a new opportunity. Ideally I’d like something 100% remote or hybrid to Atlanta. Any pointer? Anything could help.
Follow up post to my last post…My husband was laid off from the company where I also work. I am feeling really isolated / depressed about working and moving forward. I’m also getting to a stage where I’m really sad that people haven’t reached out to either my husband or myself to send well wishes or provide support. It’s like they don’t know what to say or I make them feel awkward so they don’t bother…I’m trying to focus on a few that have been supportive but it’s hard…Any words of advice? 😞
How do you not take a layoff due to RIF (involuntary reduction) personally? I was told it is not personal. All full time positions except 1 were let go. Contractors on the team still exist and so does the team. I can’t help but wonder whether performance was a factor and it makes me really sad even after a few months! Any examples of how laying off full time employees over contractors helps with cost cutting? Thanks!
My role was impacted as part of the layoffs in my last Org.. bitter truth to digest.
So I am looking for a new role and I would appreciate your help and support.
Can anyone share Hyderabad or Remote based PM/ Sr. PM jobs.
How has the FAAS consulting industry done in past recessions? I’m currently moving from audit to FAAS, but should I be worried about layoffs?
I saw on https://www.thelayoff.com/t/1k466qIa that West Monroe is laying off 7.5% of their staff. Is this true? Best of luck to all affected by this situation. I hate all these layoffs before the holidays…
Worked as an admin assist for 5 years... was fired for ASKING FOR A RAISE. Was making $22/hr. Located in NYC. Past 2 months i have going on interview after interview only to be ghosted. I've applied for some executive admin spots as well. Any advice on getting an exec assist job?

Any ServiceNow folks out there? I'm preparing to relocate to Luxembourg, and I've been asked to give my hourly rate for contract work. 22 years of experience in IT, but coming from the US I cannot even begin to estimate hourly rates in Luxembourg, let alone in the EU in general.
I’ve had a rash with bumps all over my torso my entire first trimester. Is this normal? Am I having a reaction to something or is this pregnancy related? My skin is super sensitive lately.

Hello, I’m currently trying to break into consulting. Would anyone be willing to talk about their experience of getting into consulting? I already graduated with a masters degree so I don’t think I can do those internships but don’t really have professional experience to apply for experienced roles. Even if it’s just 15-20 minutes of your time I would really appreciate it!

Hi Fishes, Please suggest the company that accepts notice period of 90days for QA Engineer. Should I try with employee referral or apply directly on careers portal. Please advice.
I’m convinced that the reason some of these firms are so prestigious is because they have intentionally exclusionary recruitment practices. I used to believe that you had to already be rich to get hired at MBB. Now being on the other side of the recruitment process , I really do feel that it rings true. I hate the way we evaluate candidates and decide on who is “high priority” during coffee chats.
Any suggestions for where I can find good practice cases for McK? I’ve already done the 6 on the McK website.
Hi guys, hoping to understand how much an Operations consultant can make at McK. Same as strategy consultants? To be more specific, the title is “service operations - associate,” 4.5 yoe, non-mba. Thanks!

The company I work for in the construction industry is revising its parental leave policy. I’m aware of lawsuits related to equal bonding time. The updated draft policy gives 8 weeks to birthing parent to recover & then 4 weeks to each parent for bonding. Reactions? I would appreciate any insights.

I’ve been working as an HR Generalist or Manager for 6+ years, but I am wanting to make a move to organizational development/staff development. Does anyone have advice on how to make that switch? Certain certifications or courses that would be beneficial maybe. Thanks!
I have been the head of the HR Dept. at my branch for 3 years now. I recruit and manage all my 200 + employees. I was given the Office Administrator job 2 yrs ago as well and still working on HR 90% of the time and wanted to know what the hourly or yearly paid would be. As I don’t think that am getting Compensated properly
Looking for Advice: I am an HR Associate at a midsized company. I was just informed that our HR Generalist put in their resignation. My boss (HR Director) let me know that I am going to be taking on more responsibilities (previous responsibilities of the Generalist role). I’m wondering… should I request a role change or ask for a bigger salary/more compensation? What is appropriate in this situation?
Any advice is appreciated. :)
We have 60 employees and growing quickly. Looking into a possible new insurance broker. Where do I start??
Need some advice. During May of 2021 an operations manager and an hourly Hr employee started a relationship while the ops manager was married. We had supervisors give us pictures of those two kissing at workFast forward they are now engaged and getting married. The HR worker does not work here anymore since July 2021. Is it too late to investigate the ops manager for misconduct ? The ops manager has worked here for 15 years and is super valuable, the operation literally can not run without him.
Hi everyone! I’m planning on taking the SHRM-CP exam in February and am really nervous! Does anyone have any advice for study materials / does anyone have anything they used that they are selling or giving away?
I am struggling with the fact that I have 13 years of HR experience in one capacity or another, along with a bachelors degree and my PHR designation yet companies say “I’m not qualified or they ghost me when I apply for HR openings. I am experienced in all aspects of HR. How are people with little to no experience coming right out of college obtaining higher level roles than I have currently? It makes my passion for the field just go away.
I’m considering making a career switch to HR (in Canada). Do I need to get any professional certifications or go back to school?

Has anyone been successful at getting back sign on bonuses after a layoff? My C suite is pushing me to contact continuously more than 10 former employees who were laid off months ago for bonuses over $15k each. I feel so unethical/uneasy doing this, they have me lawyer rate shopping and are willing to sue the get the money back. I told them chances are slim of getting the money back. This is the tip of the iceberg. There’s more. Trying to get out of here asap, otherwise I’m going on STD.
I’ve said this before and this is reminder to myself as well. What we say, like, comment, and share on FB or other social platform can hurt our job search, promotions or even our employment status.
I pulled a candidate for screening and due to the complexity of the role, I shared the candidates resume with the HM prior to screening. The HM immediately found the candidate on FB and the first thing he saw was a PUBLIC post the candidate wrote going on full attack
Severance question. I was laid off from my last company and luckily found something a week after being let go. My old company found out I got a new job from my LinkedIn and now wants to take my severance away "because I don't need it anymore and it's not a good look for the company paying someone severence when they are employed somewhere else." This is after the Severence Plan Agreement was signed but before it has been paid out. Is this a normal practice this companies and laying people off?
