Hi everyone, I went to a community college and did a few years of drafting work in civil engineering. Then I decided to upgrade and in a month I will be graduating from a Bachelor of Technology, I don’t really wanna do design work but I’m only getting calls back for drafting/design, any suggestions? And also what kind of salary should I be looking for? (The most I ever made was $50,000) which is very low and I am willing to do anything to bring that up. Any suggestions would be appreciate it.

Definitely get your FE

I have my project management certification which is what I want to get into (mainly to be honest because the pay is higher), but I haven’t had any luck getting any interviews for the last month that I have been applying..(I don’t have any actual project management experience, only the cert)

Also, which companies are you referring to? And what’s the best way to get a hold of them?

Have you had your resume professionally optimized? I would find someone on Upwork to do your resume. It really is worth paying to have it done.

I have actually, I was debating for a while but I finally did still no luck.

Is a daily 1.5 hour commute (total) worth a more supportive work environment and better benefits?
Thinking of jumping ship after just 6 months in a fully remote position for an in-house, in person job where expectation is 5d/week in person. Commute would be around 90minutes/day in interstate. Better salary, good 401k match, parental leave (20 weeks paid), 4wks PTO, and a very big name for the resume. 3 YOE. But I love the flexibility of remote work, so struggling to decide.

Any insight???

Which offer should I accept? Currently staff 2 at big 4 in Tax with CPA license. I want to leave tax ASAP. Both are public companies +1B in revenue and same salary. Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant. This track usually leads to director of revenue. Offer 2 - internal audit staff so SOX and compliance projects.

I asked for revised compensation from infosys based on parallel offer letter and got below response:
Compensation is determined for various roles, based on the competency and the experience a candidate comes in with. We also look at ensuring parity amongst any other internal employee with similar competency.  Considering these facts, we will not be in position to change compensation.
Please advise how to negotiate further.

My partner just got his first job offer in Canada (Toronto) as an Account Manager Technical Sales in oil and gas sector. They required 2-5 years sales experience. He has about 8 years of experience selling the same product in an Asian market. They have offered him a base pay of 68k plus some comission (they haven't said what percentage it would be yet). Based on glassdoor, it seems like this is the very bottom of their range. Does this sound fair just because he has no Canadian experience?

One of the team member has applied leaves for continuous 3 days this month. Later she applied for a 15 days leave saying a medical emergency. Both the leaves were rejected from her manager saying connect with HR. though she is on leave without PM leave approval and this is not even prior notice to the team.
Now'what and all would be the consequences she might face. Is there any chance of these things are being escalated? Please advise!
