Hi Everyone, I’m a rising senior and I’m looking for an actuarial internship for the Fall. I want to make sure my resume is ‘great’ before I start mass applying. Would prefer a role at a consulting company but open to anything.

*I just started at uber so I’ve only pasted the job description but will update. I’m looking for a referral/ advice. Thanks (USA - East Coast)

Resume looks great! (Not sure if this is just on my side but you should edit this post to actually tag those companies, right now they aren’t tagged, you need to add the @ before the name).
Advice: use personal email instead of student email, personally I would put education, experience, independent projects, leadership positions, actuarial exam, then skills (or at least move experience higher), and make sure it’s reverse chronological order (you put a 2021 project before a 2022 project, I would switch them). Other than that it looks great and good luck!

With that options win you should look into quant trading internships as well

Really good resume overall. I would move the work experience after the education. I would take out the options trading unless you've got a good answer to why you only did it for 4months and just decided to stop, especially with those returns.

I would also add some hard and fast numbers and stats to quantify the outcomes of your work/project experience

Bullets describe what you did but could more clearly emphasize impact and quantify where possible

Work experience should be higher on the page

Think about how you'd want eyes drawn to your page. Right now, work experience is buried and has fewer bullets vs your personal projects. I'd probably cut down on some of the personal project bullets. Whitespace overall needs to be increased increased, it's hard for me to figure out exactly what things you're trying to tell me are most important

Avoid bullets that get to the 3rd line. Be critical and efficient

OP here, thanks for all your suggestions. Since I have a student account I can’t reply to individual comments. I’ve added all your suggestions, reworded a few bullets and re arranged my resume! Thank you all very much.

I've done so well in this new role within the company that they are hiring another person to assist with what I do. I've voiced to my boss that I'd like to manage this department and they indicated that this is the thought for the future. Now they are asking me to train this person while I have my plate full. Is it wrong for me to expect either a promotion or to be paid to train this person?

Can I have your thoughts on the following please?
the company I am currently with allowed me a car at the start of my employment. This wasn't due to the role (at the time Office Manager), it was due to my personal circumstances. They kept my salary the same as the company I was transferring from.
6, nearly 7 years on and they are more or less telling me that they wish to replace the Company Car with a car allowance. The P11d value is £6k. what would be a fair allowance?

(understand that it might be possible to negotiate sign on to compensate for missed bonus). Any generic rule of thumb / insights that have helped ppl? I've conducted several informational interviews with EY consultants recently to learn more about the field and the firm. I had mentioned that I applied for an EY staff business consulting role recently, and a few of them said that I should apply for a Senior Consulting role as well. These consultants said that I would be a good fit because I'm getting my MBA. I'm need some advice as I don't have consulting experience, and I want to get some base line experience.

I’m currently in my first year of an undergrad business program and have an interest in both Finance and Consulting. If I wanted to better understand and learn about the consulting field, are there any resources or tools you would recommend looking into?
