I am not at SFDC, but I can tell you from my personal experience, that working and being the QB/owner of your account base, like an SMB AE would do, will yield you better experience of how to handle situations on your own and the compensation from where I work is better as an SMB AE vs Ent. AE helper.

Absolutely agree with this. If you're not really confident in your ability to run your own accounts, you can go for being the "Little AE." But career wise, it would be better for you to go for the straight AE role.

How to pivot from med devices to tech?

I’ve spent the last 6 years of my career working in the medical device industry as a systems engineer. I’ve ultimately grown a bit bored at my current role and want to pivot into more of a tech role. I have experience with requirement development, hw/sw/alg integration and testing for medical instrumentation. Usability evaluation, and regulatory compliance testing.

I’ve been browsing the job postings of facebooks, Apple, googles etc.

Any tips?

One of the hardest things to do in business and in sales is to have someone love what you do so much that they'll put their name on the line and refer you business.

That's a relationship you have to nurture.

And I bet that most of you have more than a handful of happy customers who would refer you business. The easiest way to get more leads and pipeline is to ask for referrals.
