I’m currently working as a KYC Analyst with 4+ years of experience and looking to transition to Japan for a KYC / Compliance role. I also have Japanese language knowledge (JLPT N3, progressing toward N2).

1. Do international firms in Japan (like Citi, MUFG, Nomura, SMBC, etc.) hire foreign candidates for KYC/Compliance roles?

2. Do companies usually sponsor work visas for such roles?

Considering pivoting into a local MM IB. As my title suggests, my technical skills aren’t as honed as one who has focused on the analysis route. How much of being an Analyst at a smaller IB is technical skill heavy coming into the role? I hold my 7, 66, 24, and am not worried about getting the 79. Any input for how realistic this is? When looking at one particular firm’s career page it doesn’t mention technical skills or modeling once, which led me to believe it may be less important than soft.

Considering an exit to a small (<200 person) SF based SaaS company with 140k base vs a large (>1000 people) Fin Services company with 145k base. Advice on what to consider?

I started working for a new law firm, much larger than the firm I was working for previously. The main attorney that I work under had noticed some mistakes I was making (I am a NY paralegal who took this position with the understanding that they’d be teaching me NJ and NYC real estate). Anyways, the attorney decided to tell the HR manager about the mistakes I had been making. Rather than HR discussing with me, the manager told my dramatic coworker to tell me..how should I handle this? Very hurt!

I have two questions. I have 10 years of experience in multiple sectors and I have been trying to gain a leadership position. I am attempting my PHR this summer but what are some tips in order for me to obtain a leadership position? Also, how long does it take to obtain another position out of state? Should I update my LinkedIn to say Salesforce Admin? I’ve been certified since October, so I have the role in my headline, but I’m thinking it’s time to update it in my work experience. I have been transitioned to work on only Salesforce related items with the company’s Salesforce Admin. When I asked my boss about a title change, however, they said that it’s doable but want to wait until performance reviews so they can couple it with a pay increase. I have not been diagnosed with ADHD. I definitely fit some of the characteristics that go unnoticed in females.
