Which province are you located in? There are immigration services such as https://mosaicbc.org/ in BC that support you through mentorship and work placement. Going back to education for a few courses does usually help minimize the uncertainty for Canadian employers. Unfortunately, Canadian experience is still highly regarded which can make it challenging for more seasoned professionals to land a job. One more thing, professional network is very much a thing. Ask around and find associations or groups such as industry specific or even your local board of trade. They may give you a free pass as a new immigrant for a couple of events that should help in your networking.
Not sure how that would look to a hiring manager. For me any Canadian experience is better than none, at any level.
If you are ok with cold weather then Alberta beside BC is hiring a lot and may lower experience requirements. One thing I’ve noticed about Toronto is everyone is over educated for their job and salary at almost any level so your ROI by upgrading at a Canadian institution might not set you apart from others
I don’t even know if I’m ready for the winter in Toronto tbh, but will definitely have a look at the job vacancies in Alberta. Thanks for the suggestion- definitely something to consider.
Look into Telco in Canada like Telus. They tend to hire newcomers.
Thanks! Will check them out.
