Hey everyone, an Amazon Amazon recruiter reached out to me awhile back for a strategic sales position. I just got the denial from them one day after the interview. The recruiter gave me quite the list to prepare and my interviewer literally brought up none of it. 3 questions, tell me about what you do, what’s your sales cycle like and how would you explain cloud in the simplest terms. That’s it. I felt like we got along great, so i was surprised at this. Any feedback anyone can provide?
Hi all, I’m a BDR at Fortinet @ with 10 months experience. There’s no progression and I’ve been offered a role in an e-commerce BDR role (series funding C) which pays about £12,000 more (60k OTE), company has a history of promoting people in just 6 months to AE which is what I want to be. Do you think it’s worth the risk as I’m in a well established firm going to a startup? Keen to understand the risks of going to a startup as a BDR too, assume it’s tougher! Fully remote, 2 months work abroad!

Thank you for putting everything into perspective, I appreciate it and you're correct. Wish that I knew though what I'd like to do onwards. I'd love to be a high tier consultant (Bain, McKinsey etc) but overworking.. Dressing sharp.. Traveling 24/7..
You are in a blessed situation for being a young professional who has money and has the privilege to leave the country no questions asked. I honestly envy you. Hope you enjoy your passions!
Hi! What makes you feel that way? I think you just need to know what kind of industry and roles you want to switch into if you are planning to leave sales. Go for your passion, OP! We are rooting for you!
Start your own less toxic company. Work for a non-profit, take a sabbatical
If you don't like the business world do not become a consultant.

I understand this 100%. I've been feeling this way for years but I'm too scared to at on it because my family and friends tell me it would be a dumb decision.
Oh the things I'd do if I was in your situation. I'm constantly daydreaming about running my own business, doing things I'm passionat about, and having all the time in the world away from this corporate life. What do you plan on doing? No matter what it is, go for it!
I completely understand you, OP. The business world is not for everyone. If not for my bills and responsibilities, I would have chosen a different path.
you could start you own thing, or figure out what you really like doing. I started some side hustles to explore things I liked but wasn't ready to quit my job over!
