Hi all, I have the long-term goal of ultimately getting into a good Venture Capital firm at Associate level. I currently work at Amazon, did my undergrad and Masters in Economics at LSE. I have 2 main questions:
1) Is it even possible/feasible to pivot from Amazon to VC given my background?
2) I have the option to internally transfer in Amazon to a product/program manager role or AWS in a start-up Manager role - which of these would be best to maximise my chances of eventually getting into VC?
Flipkart started web3/metaverse. Focus on new tech 😀

Bloomberg hi all! I applied for Bloomberg Analytics and Sales and passed the super day. I’m meeting with the manager tomorrow for half an hour. What can I expect? Thanks!
If i’m on third year of H1B but leave for school (for completely different field), can I use the existing H1B when I get a job after graduating from grad school? Or do I need to go through new h1b lottery?
Employer provides parental leave of 2 weeks for secondary caregiver. Just started exploring NY PFL. Looks like the eligibility is upto 12 weeks for New York employees. Pay can be a max of 100%. Wondering if anyone on H-1B has taken NY PFL previously. Any pros/cons/things to consider?
My parents are divorced and haven't been on speaking terms for a few years. This year, my brother and sister aren't on speaking terms either, and at various points my brother wasn't on speaking terms with both of my parents.
I love my family but it feels exhausting trying to navigate everything. I want to pretend like I have a happy family, but in all honesty it just makes me sad to see what things have become. I'd like a family of my own someday, but how can I have one not like this?
Are any L&E groups/firms hiring judicial law clerks for Fall 2023 yet (junior level - 2nd/3rd year)? Primarily interested in counseling but wouldn’t oppose some split with litigation. Any insight is appreciated!

What are peoples thought about investor relations at a fund? What’s the comp like in a high COL city and is it comparable to what the investment team would make?

I was offered a job today at a local furniture company but they want me to start tomorrow? Is that a bad sign or a good sign?
New to software sales. Trying to understand how common it is for sales leadership to accept quotas that are completely unrealistic to achieve? I’m talking the total addressable market isn’t even as large as these quotas. Also how common is it for sales teams to hit <80% of quota year over year without any consequences/changes? Thanks in advance.
A few questions:
1. When a company makes an offer to a remote candidate should they consider the cost of living where the remote candiadate lives?
2. As a BDR with 6 months experience, living in Chicago, with 10+ experience in the working world (former teacher), getting an offer from a small health tech company (20 employees) what can I expect OTE to be?
Everyone has heard the excuse “I’m underperforming because my territory sucks”. What if you can prove that you are objectively being screwed by the territory you inherited? There’s only so much “find a way” you can manage in barren land and it’s quite tiresome to see your peers succeed off of less than half the effort. The conversation with management has been had and, while empathetic to a degree, no solution has been offered.
I’m confident in my sales ability. Where do I go from here?
Aside from the regular 9-5 job, what kind of side hustle can you recommend for extra income?
I have 3 year experience working at Deloitte Consulting and want to move on to a Sales role and Career. I currently make $110K, is this feasible comp to make starting out in Sales?. How can I learn about comp in your industry?
Besides the comp question, are there any resources/forums/books online that anyone can recommend that’ll get me a good understand of what to expect out of a sales role, different sales roles, how to succeed, build career, etc. Im starting from 0
Current company is scaling fast and reps in higher segments are struggling to hit quota. Is this normal in SaaS?
I posted a question a week or so ago about how to read 10-K's. Today, I found a sales summit that is coming up that has a presentation on this topic. I posted the link below if yall want to check it out.
I’ve had a fair amount of success in a couple of direct sales ventures, but I’ve ultimately never risen to the top because I’m not a great teambuilder. I’m trying to figure out how to pivot my career & make something from the skills I learned there, but I’m not really sure what that would look like because I never saw myself getting into sales in the first place. Where should I go from here? What is the pay structure typically like in entry-level sales jobs?
Hey everyone, an Amazon Amazon recruiter reached out to me awhile back for a strategic sales position. I just got the denial from them one day after the interview. The recruiter gave me quite the list to prepare and my interviewer literally brought up none of it. 3 questions, tell me about what you do, what’s your sales cycle like and how would you explain cloud in the simplest terms. That’s it. I felt like we got along great, so i was surprised at this. Any feedback anyone can provide?
Stay with current company or move up-market before going AE/management? Currently top SDR/BDR at SaaS company selling to SMBs w/option to move to SDR management or AE. Also have offers to move to larger SaaS companies at the Enterprise level still as BDR
I am currently exploring new opportunities as an AE (I have about 2 years of experience in SaaS sales). Would you rather have a higher base salary and lower/capped commission structure, a lower base salary and higher/more generous commissions structure or something is the middle?
I currently have 1 year of sales experience B2C as door to door sales rep YTE is 110k+ in Ontario canada

Hi all, I’m a BDR at Fortinet @ with 10 months experience. There’s no progression and I’ve been offered a role in an e-commerce BDR role (series funding C) which pays about £12,000 more (60k OTE), company has a history of promoting people in just 6 months to AE which is what I want to be. Do you think it’s worth the risk as I’m in a well established firm going to a startup? Keen to understand the risks of going to a startup as a BDR too, assume it’s tougher! Fully remote, 2 months work abroad!
Curious how some of you got into the SAAS sales world? Looking to continue to advance in the sales community.
Hello all! I have an interview at Cintas for a sales position. Was curious to see if anyone has any insight or opinions on the company. Anything helps!
Best cyber security companies to join in sales?
My current company just completed an acquisition. At first it seemed fine, but now they're referring to it as an acquisition/merger - should I be worried about my job as I'm part of the foundational sales team? The other company is mostly sales and marketing. If this is really a merger, I'm not sure what to expect...
I have a final interview for an AE position next week for a saas company. 30 min interview followed by role play. I’m pretty nervous even though I feel like i shouldn’t be but I’m just excited for the chance to finally move from my BDR position.
I’m just curious, do any of you have any tips or recommendations for either part on how I can knock out this interview? Appreciate any help
