Hi everyone, its my first time posting here but thought I'd ask for some advice on this. am a beginner UXer with a design education background. I just got a job as UI Designer. I am super anxious. I am good at research to wireframing. But UI, never done it before... high fid, design systems etc are all so new to me. This is making me so insecure getting into the new job what if I make a fool of myself? What if I ruin projects and real client work? Should be excited but can't stop overthinking.

Have competing offers from EY and KPMG UK Economic advisory teams( Manager/Snr Exec level). KPMG's UK technical rep and comp offer is better, but the hours appear longer. EY UK Director has had several calls selling culture (diversity and work life balance). Is there actually a substantive emphasis on this by EY? Or are 50+ hour weeks quite common? I suspect it's going to be quite team dependent/ project dependent, and therefore a gamble in any case. Thanks for any perspectives.

How to go from “I want to go for early promo” convos to “I am burned out and need a break” without “burning the bridge” with leadership? I have always been a strong performer, my reviews are all perfect and the feedback I got from my coach and account leaders was to go for early promo next year - started talks accordingly. However, this performance came with being overworked and completely burning myself out after months of non-stop 70-80 hour weeks. Any advice on how to go about this?
