Fake it till you make it will help a little. They will see you young and inexperienced no matter what you will do. However dont try to be super friendly or super likable or anything like that. This will not help you in your position. Work your ass off so that they can recognize and respect you at least for your work ethics and professional attitude and this will help you event tough you are quite young.

Read the Making of a Manager. It talks about exactly that! Also The First 90 days is great to strategize what to work on in your new role during the first 3 months to set the stage for your own success. Imposter syndrome is very common and especially when working with people who are older, and even more as a woman. Just because you may be less experienced doesn’t mean you can’t be amazing. Remember your job as a manager will be to make decisions and make sure everything gets done BUT you don’t always have to have all the answers, that’s what your directs will help you with. Good luck! + let me know if you want book recs - I’m all about books about this topic xD

If every study shows bad management slows productivity and cost companies good employees, why are all these a**hole clients and the MDs who turn a blind eye protected? My client's awful attitude creates an extremely unproductive environment. We spend more time protecting his ego or getting irrationally screamed at, than we do doing our jobs. I thought our MD might step in, but he just completely downplayed it and even blamed us. Why isn't there more attention on changing this outdated ideology?

Hello Childfree Friends! Question (slightly grim but I intend for it to be lighthearted)— what do people without kids plan on doing with their estate/ wealth once you’re sniffing the daisies? People always talk about how they’re “working to leave something for the kids” and unfortunately I don’t think my fur baby legally counts. It’s been something on my mind lately & I’d love to hear what others who are child-free are planning. There’s obviously spouse, parents, siblings, but what else?
