I decided to get an MBA with a focus on organizational development and hr management. Keeps it broad enough in case you need to step away from hr and also specific enough where you can learn about hr more.
MBA, typically operations hires HR. Operations will respect HR folks who understand HR and Business together more than those who only know HR.
I am currently getting my masters in HR management. Once I obtain it I will get my certification . I felt like management is the next step because it’s broad you can really go in either direction. The masters courses gives you a deeper knowledge & analytical perspective of HR. Everything else you want to learn will in the job. Hope this helps!
Hi! Are the courses similar to a bachelor’s course, just more in depth? I have my BS in business administration and HR and feel like some of those courses were so general that I didn’t love them all
I just graduated with my masters of jurisprudence of labor and employment law from Tulane university. Great program and for HR professionals. I wanted something that I could actually use in my job.
This is awesome! That’s where I’m leaning I think, I love the legal/compliance side of HR. Thank you!
I have a Master's in HR Development from Villanova. It was one of the few remote programs in HR at the time. There are more now, and they are easy to get into. I would try to get one from the most prestigious school possible. Columbia has an HR program now, and having Columbia on my resume for another Master's (Negotiation and Conflict Resolution) has gotten me jobs at really good companies.
