That happened to our firm last week!! Our investigations/security team is making some recommendations and we walked the person out. Crazy times.
I’m in NA and we check IDs for specific roles that we have had issues with. It’s not illegal as we did it at my last company too. Maybe ask for a gym ID or library card?
Tell them to be prepared to have their drivers license ready for a video/in person interview. If you kindly explain the issues you’ve run into it shouldn’t be an issue. I used to run into this with technical candidates.
We take a screenshot of the video interview and confirm with all the interviewers during debrief prior to extending offers.
What do you mean? Not the same person based on appearance or they lied on their resume?
This is becoming more and more common. We’re also seeing resumes with completely made up companies on them.
Wait what?!?! How does that happen?!?! I am so confused.
