I’m an analyst at a small(ish) REPE firm. We’re looking to unroll a pretty comprehensive Multifamily strategy and I’m tasked with hammering it out internally. Part of this is choosing a RE consulting firm to engage. We’re looking for people to gather a lot of data on various markets and create various economic reports. Also other data as needed to make a slide deck. Anybody have recommendations/personal experience at a consulting firm with Multifamily practice?

Hello all, I have offers from both EXL and Clairvoyant (acquired recently by EXL). I was wondering if there would be any issue if I choose one over the other? Leaning towards Clairvoyant a bit because of the discussion with HR. Also EXL HR is saying that they will issue laptop after joining. Is this normal?

What is the best feedback(or feedback you’ve heard) to provide to a rejected candidate who is a close second but the other candidate just seems to be a bit better cultural fit?

Candidate we are proceeding has more energy, genuine, came across more authentic. Which is something hard to quantify.

We would’ve offered both if we had 2 roles

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

One of my current coaching clients told me “I have to interview for my job.” It’s not the first time I’ve heard of this happening in a re-org. But please, HR folks, help me understand: Why this is a good idea? It seems incredibly anxiety-provoking for the employees. What’s the business rationale for this? And what does it do to employee morale?

Best job to get to transition into HR?

Does anyone know where to start in HR please?

My goal role in 5 years let’s say is Chief People Officer / People & Culture Director, etc.

My background is 12+ years in customer/client experience, coaching, sales, and account management. I’m finishing a Lv7 executive coaching course and starting a CIPD Lv5 people management course.

Any ideas on what roles I can start with? Don’t care if it’s a simple role, getting in with a good company is important.

I was offered a promotion but due to internal policies the max comp they could offer was way under market value. I countered and was denied. I took time to think about it, being disappointed I applied for other jobs. Monday came and I decided to accept the offer. A week before starting my new position I got a call for one of the jobs I applied for. I am now going through to the last round of interviews the same week I start my new position. Would it be bad practice to accept another offer now?

I was talking with my director the other day about how I think the US should be implementing longer maternity leave policies and generally better parental leave policies for parents who have given birth/had a partner give birth/adopted a child, and she said it was "a crackpot idea meant to push socialist agendas." Are recruiters worth more than L&D specialists? We have a new recuiter that transferred in from another dept. & is already making more than me and has a higher comp range. We have same tenure & they have NO prev. recuiting experience. I should also add I have been helping cover recuiting in interim. I also help cover HR tasks, have my SHRM, 5 years of HR exp., and 2 degrees. Is the "value" for recruiters more than L&D? I feel a little taken advantage of, but want to know if I'm off base here.
